I have a 2023 XL Hybrid. The only option is CP 360. I have not had 1 second of problems, period. It is about 13 months old. People on this thread seem to mix the hybrid and EB together when talking about battery and charging problems. They are apples and oranges. The hybrid doesn't have a starter or alternator. If you are having this type problem it is your fault that you haven't made Ford fix it.

I performed a BMS reset after installing the Weize H5 AGM battery in mine. While technically not required as the system will eventually learn the new battery, it's advised to do so. I also configured the battery size to reflect the larger capacity H5 battery using Forscan.

Since replacing, not a single deep sleep or battery save notification, and the battery level has not gone below 80-85% SoC, even sitting for multiple days. I had COVID for the second time earlier this year, the truck didn't move for about a week, and no messages, lights still worked, and SoC was over 80%.

Ford really just needs to install a more robust battery from the factory, it would likely fix 90% or more of the deep-sleep being experienced by owners.

For those who have replaced their 12V batteries.
Have any of you done a Battery Sensor Reset??

GB.
Thread started.
Several times. Twice, I think by the dealer, and I did the blinker, brake reset at least 3 times now.....really had no effect. Reset it again when I put the Diehard in.... fingers crossed.

I think you're supposed to have your fingers crossed while you're doing the reset. 😁
What group size did you get in your DieHard?
Thank you.

First night I got my Hybrid home (Oct., 2023, after a month from Built to Delivery), I connected it to my NOCO battery tender. Since then, I always connect the NOCO (under the hood at jump points) if I know the truck will be sitting for a few days. I installed a quick-connect plug under the hood for this.

14k miles and I've never had deep sleep issues, and dome lights have never failed to come on.
Do you remember the thread pitch/nut size for the positive and negative posts under the hood? I'm thinking of permanently installing a small NOCO or Battery Tender maintainer under the hood somewhere and routing the plug through the grill. Is that what you did?

Well, I just picked up my ‘24 hybrid two days ago, and joined this group yesterday. I should have joined sooner, had no idea there were battery problems till I saw this post. I’ll start carrying my emergency jump battery and let you know if I have problems.
They are not discussing the battery dying. When the vehicle is left sitting for a period of time, the battery goes into a deep sleep to preserve the battery and avoid draining. We have been sick for a week and needed to unlock the Maverick through the app to get something and the app said to drive the vehicle to reconnect to the app.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your new Maverick!

Can you point me to the recall/update that mucks with the charging rate? Start/stop will use battery power in the middle of a trip, but does nothing(AFAIK) when the vehicle is parked.
I am around 4700 miles on my '22 XLT eco FWD. The battery has been putting things to sleep ever since I got the truck. Fully charged Sunday June 9, and I got the putting to sleep warning Monday or Tuesday just over a week later. I have the Wifi turned off.
The factory OEM battery is a FLA, not an AGM. I thought is was some 'premium' hybrid FLA/AGM from reading something/somewhere, but was corrected when I searched the part number on the battery top. If you look for a replacement, you will find the dealer battery is the same number, almost, with AGM (or "A") added.

yea . recall notice 24S24/NHTSA recall 24V267 BCM and PCM unable to detect 12 volt changes while driving . could result in lost power and contribute to an accident . check recall for exact info .

The hybrid starter is the internal smaller electric three phase starter/generator in the trans axle and is powered by the HVB through the dcdc converter. Whether in the EB or the HYBRID The battery is seldom left to rest, much less than at full charge. Therefore even the biggest and best battery even a 99.99% pure lead will degrade and sulphate sooner than it would otherwise. A 4 to 7 stage maintainer of at least 4 amps would greatly improve battery life if for no other reason than it would run the intermittent truck requirements while the 12v rests or is brought from 98% to 100% for even three to five days every three months. More of a question of how long do you want your battery to last than which is the perfect battery for the 24/7 intermittent usage and even more intermittent FAST charge conditions. I am sure that some trucks may have intermittent draws more frequently or deeper than other truck.
A thought= Has anyone autopsied their dead expired 12v OEM?

For those of you that have replaced the 12 volt battery with a heavier duty battery trying to solve the deep sleep problem, what battery have you used and how effective was it?
I spent $230 on a Die Hard Gold (not AGM) last November. About 2 months later, deep sleep came back. It has persisted even into warm weather (my location has cold winters and hot summers).

I have never installed the Ford Pass app, and the truck modem is off and was never activated. I reset the battery when I installed the Die Hard. I’ve tried putting the truck on a trickle charger frequently. I make no large demands of the truck’s electrical system, no stereo upgrades, no light upgrades, and my XL doesn’t have the 110v outlets.

Nothing helps. It stays in deep sleep all the time.

It is the only problem I’ve had in 11 months of owning my Maverick. I’m still happy with the Maverick and absolutely I would buy it again. But no dome lights and the 12v outlets cutting off with no key off run time is annoying.

After the reset you were able to leave it alone for 8 hrs in sleep mode for the Relearn?

How did you turn the truck cell connection off?

Not talking about the option to enabled the truck wifi, which allows you to use the truck cell connection via wifi if you paid for that option (or during free promo).
Of course can turn off the option to use Wifi connection for the truck to reach network for Sync/radio updates with bigger downloads.

I ask because normally a cell phone or cell data card, if unprogrammed, still knows it can get on the network and will attempt to in order to get programmed - more frequently if not setup.
Even worse if poor or no network signal - ATT in this case.

This can usually be observed if you take an old cell phone that was replaced (need the old SIM in it like the truck cell has a SIM in it), and when fully charged - leave it up and running with either mobile/cell disabled and wifi disabled, or with cell enabled (still no wifi) but unable to connect.
Which lasts longer to reach the same % battery life left?

I know some phones will attempt for a few days then give up and just give an error notice with your next steps if you want to connect - but some keep trying to connect after their error notice, to provide the SIM info to network, and see if any programming yet to receive.
And battery runs down faster in that case.

I don't recall seeing live or in the manual a way to disable the cell modem.

I did let it set overnight for the relearn. I rejected the modem TOS. If memory serves, the modem can be turned off in the options in the center screen. Or at least telematics. I also have 911 assist off. I went through all the options on day of purchase and turned off everything such as bluetooth, OTA updates and the like. My truck had the $20 credit for the wi-fi hot spot delete.

I should pull the modem fuse, but I have seen posts here that it made no difference to deep sleep.

Yes.
5/16-18 hex nuts for the positive post. The negative jump point has no threads. So I just used a (black) screw, up near the front corner of the hood on the driver side, close to the headlight assembly.

I intentionally did not run it through the grill. That way I have to open the hood to connect the maintainer. With the hood up, it's a reminder for me to disconnect the battery tender, before driving off!

Additionally, after charging, I always reset the BMS using the headlight flasher + brake pedal method.

I also disconnected the Telematics unit by removing fuse number 11 in the passenger floorboard fuse panel. I also double lock the truck with the key fob when it's sitting overnight.
