Well that's not very encouraging . I swear just when you think you have a problem solved with these trucks, they find a way to surprise you.
Right.

Does Ford sell a yearly battery replacement plan for Mavericks, instead of an extended warranty? 😂

I installed the same die-hard battery about 11 months ago.

My truck is starting to go into deep sleep again, which is right around the time the stock battery started doing it.
I am curious...did you change the charge level from 80% to 95% with ForScan? In my experience, I needed both an AGM battery and the charging level changed to avoid problems.

I have not. Will that make a difference on a non AGM?

Yes, there is a very long thread about this that most of us went through about 2 years ago. Yes, an AGM battery makes the difference because the computer is set up to charge an AGM battery, not a flooded battery. Ford ran out of AGM batteries during production and just dropped in flooded batteries.

AGM batteries recharges faster and retains a charge longer than flooded batteries. I had the same diehard battery that you had and the Maverick was able to kill it in 4 months! Get an AGM battery, reset the BMS, go into Forscan and set the charge level to 90% and you are good to go.

This has been proven by a lot of fellow Maverick owners over the last year who did this 18 months ago. Yes, it is an out of pocket expense, but so will replacing the CV joints after the warranty runs out. Do this and you are done. You may get the occasional "sleep" message, but your AGM battery will charge right up within minutes of driving. I know this because it has happened to me.

Far be it from me to spoil a good o' internet argument, but does it matter if Ford ever installed AGM batteries in a tiny percentage of hybrids or if the decision to swap to the cheaper flooded batteries was made between design and the first trucks being assembled?

It seems like no one is disputing that at least 99.9% of hydrids have flooded batteries factory installed and that the battery managment system parameters are set for an AGM battery.

Ah.
I remember reading several forums a while back that said changing it from 80% to 85% did Not make a difference. I'll try it anyway.

I recommend 95% charge level. After I installed my new Interstate AGM battery several months ago, I also changed my charge level to 95%. No more battery problems for me!! :)

I went ahead and changed it to 95%. I didn't have any battery issues either for about 11 months after installing a Diehard Gold.

I have a 2014 CMAX ENERGY that does this if not used for a couple of days. What i learned from another owner i ran into one day that if you use a trickle charger or battery minder when its gonna sit it eliminates the problem. Sometimes i don't use my CMAX for a couple of months but if on the trickle charger no issue it wakes up within a few seconds. I religiously hook up the trickle charger anymore and no more problems.
