So feels like this issue is not going anywhere until Ford issues a TSB/Recall:

Issue - Going into Deep Sleep mode even after driving it a substantial amount of time.

Solutions(but not limited to) - TCU re-program, Wiring Harness Change, Cable overlay. A bunch of these are recalls and I've done most of it. There are owner related solutions such as charging the battery over night and changing the battery to a better one themselves.

It's been 1.5 years since I got my '22Mav Hybrid. Aside from the recalls, I've had my battery (OEM) replaced TWICE now, all related to the deep sleep issue. The most recent battery change was when I left my truck for almost two weeks with the dealer to try to fix the deep sleep problem and it all ended up with the engineering department saying to replace the battery!

I've read that people have had success with replacing the battery with a better quality one and have not have a problem. This is something I want to avoid for now and I hope most people keep bringing this problem to the attention of Ford otherwise they may never work on a recall/fix. But in the meantime, I'd like to poll the "new, better battery ppl and see if that has fixed their problem.

I have had my 2023 XLT Hybrid for about a month. 2 jump starts needed. Anxiety around whether our new trucks will start is unacceptable Ford! Very frustrated. Add jumper cables to your list of accessories everyone.

I have had my 2023 XLT Hybrid for two months since 9/22/2023.

No "Deep Sleep" messages and battery voltage has been at 12.4 Volts or higher even with the many very short trips I take being retired. Only 650 miles on the truck as of yesterday 11/22/2023. At that rate I will only drive 3,900 annually.

Yesterday's voltage was 12.8 Volts even after the two short 1 mile trips.

In the 1 3/4 years on my previously owned 2022 XLT Hybrid I did have two "Deep Sleep" messages. The truck always started up (no jump needed).

The "Deep Sleep" stopped being an issue on the 2022 with the BMS module software being updated when I had the "Grabby Brakes" TSB Done.

Those who have to "Jump" their truck to have them start have other issues that need to be diagnosed under warranty.

Just performed a 'Repair' or 'Recovery' using my smart charger for 6+ hours yesterday, and the manual indicates it generally takes roughly 4 hours. But it did 100% SoC overnight, so I don't believe its a drain issue. (For the record no deep sleeps the first four months of ownership, only after I was around the truck for 3-4 hours detailing it, did the first message occur).

For those with the deep-sleep, I have noticed a few things:

1) Regardless of how long the ignition is on, the battery drains for 45-50 minutes, while things stay at least partially powered afterwards.

2) The voltage or float level of charge seems to go up a bit, once most of the electronics shut-down after that period of time. (There's actually a significant draw by the electronics).

3) The charge rate with nothing but the radio on (daytime driving), no headlamps for example is SLOWER than when driving say at night with the headlights, running lights on, which surprises me, as I would have thought the reverse.

4) Deep-Sleep seems to occur below ~12.2-12.1 volts on the battery

5) The software for the BT Battery Monitors, at least the one I bought, indicate a full charge at >12.92 volts, which will never happen with most batteries. (~12.71 is the normal). Thankfully I can choose a CUSTOM setting and input the desired voltages at each 10% increment.

6) The Factory battery is simply too small reserve capacity wise for all the electronics in these trucks, 45 minutes at 100% charge. Since the BMS likes to keep the battery at 80%, which even if proportionate is only 36 minutes. (In reality the percentage isn't quite proportional, so in reality a little less). If you back out of the driveway to switch cars and the engine starts, even allowing it run until the engine shuts off isn't enough to compensate for the electronics drain that occurs over the next 45-50 minutes. - I've monitored the voltages, and that scenario drops 10%-20% off the battery, depending upon the starting SoC (State of Charge) and temp.

So has anybody fit an H5 sized battery into the Hybrid back seat area? That yields a lot more reserve capacity, but does need a bit more space. I think it's 1/2 inch higher, and an inch longer, with about the same depth, and might just fit, but it's going to be close. If you have, what model battery did you use.

I think you are spot on with #6. I have noticed the same thing. Imagine moving your car 2-3 times in a day and having to worry about battery drain.

Heck, opening and closing the doors isn't much better. Cluster lights up, radio screen comes in. Way too many things wake up.

This is a hybrid meant to be untouched while parked, and only driven on trips that are 15 minutes or longer. Probably mentioned somewhere in the manual with some fine print.

Looking online all Ford's have these deep sleep issues , but maverick is something special and if 24s are fixed without a TSB released for 22/23MY then we might be screwed.

I have a '22 Hybrid XLT collected in Feb '22 so one of the early models. Had a few deep sleep messages but wasnt too fussed then this past week had deep sleep messages pretty well every day and the interior lights wouldnt go on when I opened the door. Had it in for a recall this morning and mentioned to the SA and they replaced the battery. So fingers crossed but it is concerning especially if its parked for a few days.

Are you still jump starting the battery or did you resolve it some other way?

I am also a victim of what may appear to be a faulty battery. (being kind) i have about 5000 miles on the truck, I ran for 3 days in Sport mode to basically keep the battery charged, then I have run the past two days now in Normal mode. This morning I made a 3-mile round trip in normal, then while sitting in the driveway, unlocked, not used at all. Several hours later I get a DEEP SLEEP message! Saying the battery is low... I think they have a major software issue that isn't first charging the battery, then going to ECO modes and utilizing the battery. makes on want to say WTF, don't they test these systems thoroughly??
Has anyone ever wondered why or do you hear a lot of relay clicks etc. when the engine is off, nothing on! but several minutes after being shut off it sounds like you've activated multiple devices or something? Hmmmmm
