About a week ago, I received a message that my vehicle was entering Deep Sleep mode. This happened to me one other time last January, 2023 XLT Ecoboost. When I checked, my battery voltage was low at 11.83V. I started the engine, let it run for nearly an hour, and took it for a drive. Afterward, the voltage read 12.86V. I also had the battery and charging system tested at Advanced Auto—they reported everything was fine, with the battery at 100% charge.

Since then, I’ve used an Android adapter with Forscan Lite and a Bluetooth connection to monitor details. I’ve noticed something odd: the battery state of charge never shows above 80%, currently it’s reading 78% (see screenshots). Today, on startup, the voltage was 13.6V, but ten minutes later, it read 14.6V.

Does anyone know why my battery’s state of charge doesn’t go above 80%? My battery type is AGM, AGM is also confirmed as the BCM setting via Forscan. I’ve also previously (4 months ago) set the charge limit to 90% and reduced the ACC timeout to 30 minutes instead of the factory 1.5 hours (I also reset the BMS after I made those changes). Since I hadn't seen any issues since last January, I had thought the changes I made fixed the issue. Any comments or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

When you look into the settings in forscan for the battery you will see it has a charge limit of 80%. It will let you change it but it might just be to prolong the life of the battery.

If it was a Li battery, setting 80% as the goal SoC makes sense to prolong battery life.
You may have a FLA battery, not an AGM. You have to look at the battery to verify.
It may be possible the 'strategy' used for the two types is different.
It may be that leaving the type at AGM may override the SoC you specify. I would
change the type to match what is installed, and see if that allowed the changes to take effect.

If you had any recalls done after you changed the level of charge, you need to go back and change the level of charge again.

I've got a BM2 battery monitor tied across the battery terminals of all 3 of my Fords (Mav, F250, Explorer). Each BM2 stores 30 days of voltage info but each time I walk down the driveway I tend to download the history for all 3 vehicles. At $20 each they're cheap info.
