This was the second mod that I did. With a custom wire harness it's a 5min job, no tapping into factory wires. I also added an usb power cord on the harness for dash cam. So much cleaner than wiring cable under trims.
Is the dashcam always on or just when the truck is on

That looks great except for one thing...won't the mod void the warranty especially for the onboard camera? Those things can cost a pretty penny if damaged.

i didnā€™t have to mess with any camera. All you have to do is tap into power from the map lights.

Care to provide any details on your custom wire harness, etc. I would be interested in that option.

Just received notice from KIA that original part no longer available. Can substitute another mirror with same features and at same price. I wonder about fitment.

I found this:
https://www.kiaautoparts.com/oem-parts/kia-auto-dimming-mirror-with-homelink-and-compass-b2062adup1?c=bD03Jm49U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM=

for the same price

Looking at the kiaautoparts.com website my order was just updated to part number:
A7062-ADUP1

Anyone know if the Homelink power needs to be on a constant 12V? I would prefer that is is not for security reasons when parking outside my garage. Just wondering if maybe there is a reason for it so it does not lose memory or something like that. Thanx!!

To the OP, great video, very clear and concise. Thanx!!

I just ran a hot and ground down a pillar to the fuse box behind glove box. I did it this way because I added a radar detector in the circut also. Good luck its an easy project. Bret

Iā€™ve already installed the KIA mirror in my Mav, and I just ordered a second mirror to install in my wifeā€™s ā€˜15 RAV4.
Can any of you point me to videos or (gasp) an actual wiring diagram for the mirror area of that RAV4? Better yet, how about some sort of an adapter wiring plug in thingie.

That is the mirror I bought and works great. So great I installed one in my old Miata- in both vehicles I wired the homelink to the wire with power on, for security. So nice to finally not fumble with garage remotes!
