What is wrong with the whole idea is it appears the idea was to plow with the truck going in reverse and this is the worst thing you can do. Transmissions are not designed to push heavy loads in reverse they will break. Happened to me twice. Once trying to move a rock in reverse and another time a boat with Fords, then new over drive tranny, Ford paid for #2 because i had called corporate regarding the use in reverse because my experience with our fleet vehicles had already proven the new tranny did not like backing up with a heavy boat with surge brakes. Ford assured me they had fixed the problem and i would be fine but i wasn't the very first backup in my new Bronco 93, killed the tranny.
Why not turn the blade around and plow by driving forward?
Because this is a HYBRID with eCVT none of what you wrote applies to this case.

But I hear what you are saying about those other cases.

You might be able to add a support wheel under to relieve some of the weight and when the plow is down the ground will relieve some of the weight, but the leverage force due to the distance adds a lot of stress to the tongue, way more than 300lbs. Measured in ft/lbs.

If set up correctly you should be able to use a second wench to do the left right angle with the remote. Will need a few pulleys and a spring., although most here don’t think you should do it at all.

A lot of work and expenses for not much.
Buy an old rotten pickup and dedicate it just for that. That would be a better solution. You might even find a truck with a plow already on. This is what the church that i attend church did years ago.

My point being the Mav is designed to pull a trailer not push heavy loads of snow the same as with my examples. Ford didn't take into consideration the surge brakes used on boat trailers that can act like a pile of snow adding weight in a direction the vehicle was not engineered to handle. causing failure.

Because the Maverick is unibody it cannot accept a front mounted plow. I now use a front mounted John Deere snowblower. But living up north I have always had a back up plan in case problems arose with the tractor.

I still have a homeowners plow that I used on my last two pick ups so I decided to mount it to the receiver at the rear of the Maverick. It raises and lowers with a winch and an arm is used to swing the blade left or right. Most homeowner Plows are less than 300 pounds, well within the 400 pound tongue weight rating for my all-wheel-drive hybrid. I wouldn’t want to rely on it for all my snow clearing but as a backup, I think it will work just fine for me.

As a bonus, the plow height is low enough so that it doesn’t interfere with the rear camera or backup lights, which will be helpful for night snow clearing.I upgraded the winch with an $80 2500 pound winch from Harbor freight that included a wireless remote.

I have a small toolbox that I use for the various items that came with the winch. I also have a lawn and garden battery in the toolbox that I use to operate the winch.

I didn’t want to fool around with making connections to the Mavericks battery so I will keep the winch battery on slow charge for the season. All I need to do is remove two wires from the winch and I can take my toolbox into the house when I am not using the plow.

While the thought is interesting, the facts are that snow can be very heavy and if you're backing up into a snowbank, You can only go so quickly and the thought of hitting a snow bank and crumple zones come to mind... I have a hybrid too and can't go superfast I'm reverse because the engine revs too much because of its gear. Just don't let insurance company know because I'm confident you'll be making a claim of your winters are anything like mine...
Good luck but you've been warned by many.

Thank you🤝

Glen - this is what I use for snow removal. It is a 1025R John Deere with a 54 inch snowblower. I bought it last season to replace a 23 hp Kioti with a 48 inch snowblower. The Kioti was purchased new but was problematic which is why I had the homeowners blade on my four-wheel-drive Colorado. The John Deere is extremely reliable and I don’t ever expect to use a rear blade on my Maverick but it will be there for emergencies. I hope this clears things up for everybody.

End of reprint.

Bob,
Good luck with your John Deere main snow removal setup that you spoke about in your first post. That's a nice looking setup. Thank you for posting a picture of it.
On the other hand.
You should be fine using your Maverick **conservatively in a pinch/emergency with that smaller homeowner's blade.

**pushing or dragging snow at no more than a walking pace, be mindful of the consistency of the snow I.E water content or weight.

Most boat trailers with surge brakes have a reverse-lockout solenoid activated by the back-up lights. This is why many boat trailers w/brakes use a 5-flat or RV-7 light connection.

The HYBRID Ford Maverick transmission can handle full throttle in reverse with zero harm. It is designed for it. It is NOTHING like any of your examples.

If you are worried about bending the 2" hitch receiver or body, say so. You didn't mention it.

I lost the tranny in 93 when that od was new and i fortunately new i was likely to have an issue because our fleet vehicles had already had problems with the new tranny. With my 2007 super duty came from the factory with hook ups for anything. All I know the issue only came up when backing up boats in 93 and was guessing at the cause. You can't kill a super duty...well.. at least i can't. The Maverick isnt a superduty but it is a Ford truck so I'm confident it can pull its own weight and then some.
At least i hope so cause i picked up a new lariet which even has a built in brake controller like my superduty three days ago. We shall see what it can do

I have a floating fixed blade aluminum plow that is designed for plowing in reverse, though I use mine on a front hitch mounted on a Jeep Wrangler.

A unibody truck with the 4k hitch is certainly adequate for plowing, the plow will never put as much load into that hitch as does towing a 4k trailer.

Though plowing backwards would be a challenge.
