I recently had a large drop in mileage, and it seems to be based on altitude and more probably the change in gas from the winter to summer blend, not sure if that happens where you are located. (I think the ethanol % changes a little) and that higher level of ethanol really drops your mileage...

Standard drive mode, I seldom change it. the higher altitudes requires mid range gas at 88 as the regular up there is 86. The believe the AC and heat are electric so that may be draining the battery some at those speeds. I guess I didn’t think the outside temp would affect the mpg that much.

I was due for an oil change so I asked them to look at it as part of my visit. There could have been some headwinds, but not sure. This time the return trip had two bad mpg tanks and the rest normal. Previous trips all was normal mpg.

Is there a way to check that?

Maybe you should have made them show you the bill of sale for the truck you wanted, so you could see the date and time of the sale. May have been sold a few days before, which is why they didn’t want your deposit.
