For a front mounted hitch you could just cut a 2.5"square hole in the intercooler and just bolt to that. Its aluminum should be strong enough(stronger than steel right?). I would just make sure you disable the air bags before plowing, if you hit ice it may sense an impact!
I actual like the idea. As stated before keep in mind this isn’t for commercial use and you will be fine. It won’t over heat by blocking the intercooler that’s not how it works. If it’s cold enough to snow you are not gonna heat soak a intercooler. Beside you know how much boost you would have to push to do that. High speed plowing. Lol
I’ve plowed with a 8.5’ boss on an ecoboost f-159 zero issues.
Living in west Michigan where we get a few inches of snow a night lots of small stuff plowing. A lot of Polaris tab’s and rangers. They all work as one poster said just stay on top of it. Plus if I am gonna abuse a truck I’d rather it be my cheap maverick than my f-150
Back in another life, when I owned a landscaping company on the side.. I would take plow contracts to retain the best employees over the winter... I didn't even consider putting a plow on my F150 (it hauled snowblowers instead)... But my 2 F350s and my F550 got plows and salters.
I wish I could afford a heated driveway. One of the houses near me has one and it's so awesome. In the past I've driven by just to see it in action lol. The walkways, the driveway and I wouldn't be surprised if the backyard had it too.
The problem with a snow plow on a Maverick is the front end unibody is engineered to crush with impact - if you study the undercarriage of the front end, you see numerous engineered crush points and breakaways. So any plow pushing on the front of the frame is going to be stressing these weak points and possibly (likely) failing.
Even the factory tow hooks are designed to crush rearward upon impact - they are only strong on the "pull".
