Experience, responsibility and authority. I was/am top Admin for WWW because I made myself responsible for WWW success in 1992. Role didn't exist before me. WWW project was originally not approved. I lead a team of software, hardware and networking specialist to give Tim the WWW starting guy, an approval path in 1991.
This makes me a good guesser. Lol.

Over-the-Air updates allow for vehicle system software to be updated wirelessly over Wi-Fi (both private and or public Wi-Fi connection) and or the vehicle cellular network.
Over-the-Air updates occur on a rolling basis.
By default, the vehicle starts the update process as soon as new software becomes available, notifications of software update availability are displayed on the vehicle display screen.
The Over-the-Air Updates are available for vehicles that are factory equipped with an Enhanced Central Gateway Module, TCU and APIM with Ethernet communication network connections.
Some OTA updates can complete in the background, more complex updates can take a period of time to complete and the vehicle will be disabled during the update process.
These more complex updates must be scheduled by the customer, to complete at a time convenient for them.
If an OTA update becomes available that is required to be scheduled, the customer is notified through the vehicle display screen, remotely through the FordPass app.
The vehicle is disabled during a scheduled update and once the update starts, the doors may be prevented from opening, locking or unlocking.
The vehicle is disabled/inhibited by design when the OTA software update is being installed to the receiving module(s).
Certain conditions must be met for a scheduled update installation to complete.
If these conditions are not met, the update is postponed. Postponed updates can be rescheduled for a time when the conditions can be met.
The vehicle display screen displays a 2 minute countdown prior to the scheduled update start time, to give the customer the opportunity to postpone the update if necessary.
Once the update has started it can not be postponed.
Details of the over the air (OTA) update release status can be can be viewed on the PTS Connected Vehicle tab.

The Ethernet communication network is a high speed communication network providing high bandwidth data transfer and improved data security to support module updates over the air, driver assistance systems, multi media systems and improved connectivity.
The Ethernet communication network connects the TCU and the GWM and other connected modules such as the APIM , dependent on the vehicle configuration.
The network is primarily utilized for the update over the air feature to quickly and securely transfer data from the connected external source (data cloud) through the TCU to the GWM where it is distributed to the receiving module on the vehicle.

I don't know what the GWM is, but if the '25 model doesn't take better care of it's battery than the ''22-'24 models do, there won't be many OTA updates.

@HeyBales. Everything I have done in the past was classified after I get it to work. MY G.S. level (DoD) is higher than I allow to be published. I KNOW THING, because I Know. When I make a prediction I expect it to happen.
It may not be obvious, when I make statements online. I am giving direction to others to help Ford out.

There is NO "Software Updates" in the vehicle tab (vs. Service) in my FordPass App.

This what I see:

1. Starting the FordPass App I see "Settings" which I click on
2. The ONLY entry is "Vehicle Access" and nowhere "Software Updates" shown
3. If I click on "Vehicle Access" the only entries are: "Invite Driver(s)", my Full Name and "Reset Instructions"

Again I cannot find this "Software Updates" anywhere on the FordPass App.

Does this need you to connect your teuck to WiFi? I never have.

Yes - all the battery requirements, though unstated what minimum values are, should make the reality of this interesting.

I'm guessing this new found proclamations of this working means the 25 remote access in Fordpass got working finally, after the initial issues they were having with so many.

Which is concerning too - they couldn't figure out how to get the basic connectivity working for awhile. Or customer service wasn't informed it shouldn't be working yet, neither were dealers or customers informed not yet - if purposeful.

He did.... we were in same room. But not at the time, Tim and I were in the same room at the same time on a different date. Tim was supposed to be in the same room and lead the team supporting HIS WWW invention, but he didn't show. I lead the team in his absence.
WwW is a project on the internet.

I just did what you posted and here are my choices under vehicle:settings: RESET instructions are the only choices or Invite a driver.

I'm running on iPhone. Had v5.19.0 until yesterday and updated to v5.20.0, did not notice any changes.

I guess you’re correct. My 24 Lariet doesn’t have that ability listed in Ford Pass either. You would think they wouldn’t send the email if it didn’t apply.

Thank goodness they can’t remotely brick my truck
