How long did they have your truck? And does your paperwork say how much time the Tech took to perform the recall?
I dropped mine off Thursday @ 8am after making appointment approx 2 weeks prior to then. I called them that night @4pm. They needed the truck another day. 3 pm on Friday I had to call again. They needed to keep the truck till Tuesday.
I needed the truck for the weekend so I picked it up. Service Advisor wrote" Customer refused to leave truck this visit for work or diagnostics".
Just for the software update? No idea I was getting a bunch of work done all a once, oil change, airbag recall and the software update. I doubt it would take more than an hour or two just for the software update.

Yeah, I would definitely look into going to another dealer. We went through Larry. H Miller, which is a series of dealerships with a very good reputation, they treat their customers well. It took them 2-3 hours to do multiple software updates.

Is there a way to check to see if my vehicles needs any updates, or is that only something the dealership can do?
If you call your dealership and give them your vehicle information, they should be able to tell if it needs to have that done. Newer mavericks, late '23 and early '24s should be fine.

I'm not sure if this post is specific to Hybrids but I've notice that my breaks can be really grabby in speeds. It's a 22' ecoboot.

I'm sorry friend, I don't think this applies to Ecoboost owners. In your case, it may just be adjusting to a new car with new, and better brakes. Whenever my family would switch cars, we'd always be a little too aggressive with the brakes at first, because we were used to brakes that were several years old, thus worn out, and less sensitive. My grandma learned to drive in the 1940s, and was used to drum brakes, which obviously are pretty terrible compared to modern ones, so she always braked too hard in her Camry.

Thanks! That is what I am doing. I know dealerships don't like warranty work due to the slow payment from FORD. I hope another dealership will be understanding and help me with this.
By the way, my dealer offered to come out to me and complete the update onsite, but I had a few other things to take care of so i went in.

Same here, I have a deep sense of dread when it comes to trusting people, especially when entrusting something like my car to them. When my dealer said they would offer to pick my maverick up, the first thing that came to mind was Ferris Bueller 😂. My dealership has been great overall, but my brain loves to entertain worst case scenarios.
