I have this screen too on version 5.19 of Ford Pass. I have a 25 Maverick.
So function was already added to 5.19 for the 25MY owners.

Why am I thinking the quick update to 5.20 was to fix something not working with that function specifically.

Oh yeah - this whole ability is going to be so reassuring to allow!
For those of you that do.

I'm guessing this is more the means to make it easier to DISABLE remotely so you don't have to dig/bury thru the menus on the truck looking for it.

He did.... we were in same room. But not at the time, Tim and I were in the same room at the same time on a different date. Tim was supposed to be in the same room and lead the team supporting HIS WWW invention, but he didn't show. I lead the team in his absence.
WwW is a project on the internet.
Wasn't VC in the same room?

Ok, here is the timeline, the first install of what became the known as the internet occurred two year before I met Al Gore.
It was funded by ...... the location was on 410 N. In San Antonio TX. I was the only person in the room. I reported back it was successful and gave the final report on the numbers.

So, just so we are clear, the OP, a co-inventer of the WWW and internet services/software/security luminary, is the only one who successfully updated Ford Pass App to 5.20 and gained the ability to remotely update his vehicles software. That update alledgedly gave wireless android auto capability to his 2022 XL Basic Sync 2.x Lite Infortainment system.

I figured we are at page 5, post #70, therefore a proper summary was due. My work is done here.

Almost.

5.20 Fordpass was a really quick update to 5.19 which actually gave the option for Upgrade hours, several have seen that with their 25MY truck.

OP's non-Sync 22MY system was upgraded remotely by Ford tech to Sync4 to support this new functionality of the 25MY systems.

I still stand behind my contention that the paper clip was invented by Al Gore. By the way, I am still waiting for TedTX to ask who VC is or at least, mention his full name...

Did they use the teleporter from the USS Enterprise to teleport and remotely install a new Sync4 APIM and ACM into his truck too?

I have a 2023 Lariat, and I have the app on my phone. However, according to the instructions, I am to go to the Ford app >> Settings >> Automatic Updates >> Schedule. However, I don't see any Automatic updates under settings. Any idea where this might be?

I think the new remote update software option is only available to the 25 Mavericks at this time...

Yeah its too bad this thread got off to such a bad start. The OP obviously has no idea what they are talking about and has spread a bunch of misinformation. Even the thread tittle is confusing. Nobody calls it remote software updates. Everyone always refers to them as OTA(over-the-air) updates.

Anyway, it doesn't matter now because here we are. You MY25 Maverick owners are in for a WILD ride. Fords OTA update process is a HOT MESS. I've owned a Mach-E for 2.5 years now and the OTA update process has been crazy. It's not just Mach-E either. Look around and you will see that other Ford vehicles equipped with Sync4 and 4A go through the same thing.

You know it could be something as simple as a not having a fully charged 12 v battery in our Trucks.
I left my truck running in park.and my devices connected to truck power system while the software was updated. The Truck wasn't the only thing being updated. I listed the devices I expected was compromised.
