Not really that long ago, A lot of members have shown their beautiful older cars that have caps and doors that close!Im so old i remember when the gas tank just had a gas cap and a door that opened to get to it![]()
I appreciate finally knowing what that was. Living on the ocean, I have access to lots of Jellyfish,Or perhaps it’s the Arming Mechanism for the Jelly Fish Launcher.

Pressurized? I think it’s a load BS to say that the EB is not pressurized. All Gasoline automotive fuel tanks are pressurized.Interesting.. I didn't know that. Rats... now I have something else to research and learn... Why the fuel delivery of the hybrid requires pressurized fuel storage, and conversely why it was decided the Ecoboost wouldn't benefit from the same work (or to the extent that it wasnt' worth the extra spend).
ETA: post sitting with circles going when computer shut off, fired off the next morning - now a duplicate. Leaving since info in one post. Will I find it in the index if I look for "green plastic thingy"?
The manual for my 2022 XL Hybrid says in an emergency I'm supposed to use a plastic tool stored with the jack to pry the fuel door open (p.178). It doesn't mention the thingy.
I just went to the garage and saw the thingy, which I've never noticed in three years. I pulled it and nothing happened, even after I turned the key in the ignition. Am I supposed to pull harder? I'm afraid I'll break a half axle if I pull too hard.
The wife’s Toyota has a bunch of blank button things, so we got a set of stickers from Amazon that say things like “EJECTION SEAT” and “OIL SLICK”, etc.Or perhaps it’s the Arming Mechanism for the Jelly Fish Launcher.

Pressurized after stopping the likely difference. Probably amount of pressure too.Pressurized? I think it’s a load BS to say that the EB is not pressurized. All Gasoline automotive fuel tanks are pressurized.
At least since emission controls were instituted they have been.
Dang, I thought that was the shower button.Or perhaps it’s the Arming Mechanism for the Jelly Fish Launcher.

No, it has to do with the pressurized tank in the hybrids. It was an interesting decision on Ford's part to include a locking gas cover on the Hybrid, but not on the EcoBoost. Maybe it just simply came down to buyers of the Hybrid demanding "No one is stealing my gas", so as to alter their mpg results?
I remember when there was no door or any flap to hide the filler, the filler was directly attached to the gas tank and the gas tank was mounted inside of the cab, directly behind the seat. What could have possibly went wrong?I remember no door, just a cap.
I also remember opening the tail light or pulling the license plate down.
Pressure is relative. In the EB, the pressure is vented into an evaporative canister, which condenses the volatile hydrocarbon fumes and sends it back to the gas tank as liquid gasoline. That system is still venting the pressurized air from the gas tank, and that air still contains small amounts of hydrocarbons, even though the majority has been condensed out.Pressurized? I think it’s a load BS to say that the EB is not pressurized. All Gasoline automotive fuel tanks are pressurized.
At least since emission controls were instituted they have been.
I'm not going to use all the little things and then, 10 years later when me and the Mav are old, I'll be running across these little helpers and I'll need them and I'll have NO idea what in the he'll they're for. I hope you guys will still be around. Will I find it in the index if I look for "green plastic thingy"?
