They said the tailgate compartment is 4" deep and then show it being used as a cooler with soda cans standing up in it. Soda cans are 4-1/2" tall. So, did they saw off the bottom of the cans to fake that picture?

"Much wider stance." Even more bloated than it already was, of course. Wake me up when Chevy makes a replacement for my S10.

Hope they start selling them soon. Ford will blow these out of the water with the Ranger redesign and Toyota will mop up both when they inevitably launch the Tacoma redesign sometime between 2024 and 2500.
Toyodor has a lot of work to do to catch the new Ranger. The Ranger Raptor is in a class by itself. The much ballyhooed TRO is way behind. They will try but like the F150 Raptor, everyone tries to match but fails miserably. Just my opinion but the blue oval just seems to be step ahead when they want to be, especially the Raptor models. You drive off of the lot with a badass vehicle, no mods necessary. Yes I am biased on this subject but I am also fine with anyone getting what they want and competition is healthy.

Those look like those super tiny cans of soda you can get at the store, so I believe it could hold those and ice no problem.

I wish this were a modern S10, personally. I'll keep dreaming about a modern GMC Syclone analogue

Big screens, cameras, temp readout dials and lots of other tech featured in that video.

Makes one wonder where they're planning to get chips and screens?

Meh, looks too much like a scaled down Silverado. I was hoping for a more unique style.

I'm sure it will be solid otherwise, performance should be class leading with the T4 2.7.....Ranger may need to answer with the 2.7EB to stay tops in the class.

Its still considered a mid size truck. It also has turbo engine in it like the maverick. The maverick competes indirectly with mid size trucks.
The Maverick also “indirectly” competes with the Honda Civic, Ford F-150 (ecoboost), Silverado (turbo), and Porsche 911 Turbo S, as they also have turbocharged engines. 😄

Funny thing is, the only head-to-head competitor with the Maverick right now is the Hyundai Santa Cruz, yet no one on this forum wants to acknowledge it.

Probably because it’s been compared a million times . Plus the cruz on the lower radar of popularity . The maverick doubled its sales … its been talked about a lot when they first came out though . Hyundai right now has gotten into some trouble for runing peoples credit scores https://jalopnik.com/hyundai-agrees-to-pay-19-2-million-in-fines-for-ruinin-1849334022/amp

I hadn't noticed before, but they are ditching the extended cab/long box option entirely on the Colorado. Yuck! I guess that reduces the already slim chances of any potential direct competitor to the Mav from Chevy having a long bed option to zero if it doesn't even exist in the mid-size anymore.

there is only 1 same category competitor for Maverick- Hyundai Santa Cruz. Both are uni-body construction COMPACT trucks. Ranger is the Ford same category competitor for Colorado and Canyon- Body on frame MID-SIZE trucks. If you want a "tweener" you could say Ridgeline which is uni-body, but still MID-SIZE "competes" against Maverick. It's no more complicated than that

I’m interested. Would be several thousand more than a Mav but also more truck.
