I've had none of those issues.

What year model? The 8-speed gasser?

My '17 had wiring harness failure. It's a well-known. Our Mavs will eventually have known issues too.

The Twins (GMC Canyon/Chevy Colorado) were the only mid-size left that came with a diesel. After GM dropped the diesel, I see no reason to get these new models.

So the only postings in the competitive thread should be about the Santa Cruz?!

This will be a ghost town pretty soon then.
My Colorado didn’t. That was in comparison to the Mav glitches. Colorado had a 6 speed.

Hey, for those of us still waiting for our Mav orders to be scheduled, at least it's nice to know other options may be available.

Granted, a Colorado doesn't necessarily float my boat and it's not a perfect apples to apples comparison, but the point is that as time goes by and Ford continues to struggle with production and delivery it's good to see other manufacturers offering viable alternatives that can be considered.

I would be totally down for a Colorado if they make a hybrid version. I almost bought one of the 1st gen Colorados back in the day because I loved the S10s. The price was too steep for me back then and the gas mileage wasn't much better than a Silverado.

I like the Colorado/Canyon. It was one of the models I was considering before I found out the Maverick was a thing. Though hearing about GM crappy paint is nothing new. Wish they would stop using water colors.

That said, depending on how the Mav fares/holds up, I am not sold on it yet for the long term and a mid size isn't out of the realm as my 'next truck.'

I love the Maverick but it's just too soon to say.

i think i would wait unitl 2024 ranger comes out before making any deceisons on going size up in truck. If you going be paying mid size truck level its good see what other brands are doing for 2024 , tacoma is also coming out with new look as well

That is what I am waiting for, and would be the earliest I would replace the Mav. I thought I would drive this thing for a decade or more, but some aspects of it have me questioning that thinking.

Well I just had my windshield decide to implode out of the blue, everything in the interior scratches if you look at it funny, the extremely thin paint will also not age well with use. I haven't really had a chance to put it to the test (off road or towing) so still don't have a feel for it's overall capability.

It fits my needs pretty well. I am not unhappy with the Maverick. The windshield bugs me, and it's happened to others. I hope it will impress me with more use, but at 2k miles to date, I am still feeling it out.

Yea I’ve seen window issues here I haven’t ran into that issue yet ! So far my truck has been good to me . No issues . The paint yea have issues down the line . I get hand washes , dust off daily I think that helps .

I've 0 issues with my Mav ... knock on wood! About to hit 5,000 miles!

Still, it's naive to think there wouldn't be some issue with any 1st year model. Folks are reporting issues: windshield crack, battery cable failure, DOA hybrids, etc. I don't take that as a ding on Ford b/c we got warranties.

I am tempted by GM swapping powertrains on the new Colorado/Canyons. They're getting the 2.7L turbo L3B that gets >350 lb-ft -- that's a lot more torque than the old 4bangers! and more than the 2.0L that Ford put in Mavs. The Mav will still best MPGs but the 2.7L will be a LOT better than most any other mid-size. Probably close to 30MPG.

With this oil & gas supply nightmare, every inch of MPG matters.

Like I said, there are some nagging things about the Mav, it hasn't ruined my ownership experience so far, but it is early. I will have a better feel for it after my August road trip. The windshield followed by the run around I got about it put a ding in my confidence, but that's also why I like to stay informed about what else is in the pipeline. If it becomes a reoccurring thing I'll trade out of it in 24'
