"In some respects, it’s a return to tradition. Before the fundamentally front-drive, unibody construction of the fifth generation, the Explorer always had rear-wheel drive and a body-on-frame arrangement. With this generation, Ford has reinstated rear-wheel drive, but it retains the more refined unibody approach."
You were right, I had to check myself on that. I don't know why I was certain that when that came out and advertised as going back to RWD that I thought that was tied to body on frame as well.

I know there is a new forum for the 6G Ranger here >> https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/

Hope it is cool to post here in the maverick forum though.

I'm seriously considering getting a Ranger, and I'm curious whether @Granger Ford Ford or Long MacArthur @fordvideoguy plan to offer forum member deals on the new Ranger?

Even if the price were the same as locally, I would still prefer to deal with these quality people.
Plus, road trips are fun.
Yes, we're offering 3% under invoice on the 2024 Ranger (excluding Raptor).

The problem is - you can get into a new Silverado 1500 LT (2.7 turbo 4) for $43-45k right now. The only reason to get a Ranger at that price point would be size. The Silverado LT also does not have a two-speed transfer case so it doesn't have low gearing but it does have the G80 auto-rear locker which is not preferrable to a manual locker but way better than just an open diff.
That and it's really ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as others have pointed out but the GMC/Chev full-size trucks look really bad to me.

When do you think we will know something about the 2024 Ranger? Order banks opening in April, but prices? engine options? Everything still under tight wraps.
We normally know about 30 days before the order banks open.

The new Ranger is a good looking truck. Looks like a bigger Maverick!

Do you know why the order banks open up for the MY24 Rangers?

I might look into ordering a ranger if my Maverick doesn't get built this year
Ford has not said anything to dealers about order bank opening yet but the Fleet Dealer News Bullentin from Friday says May 26th.

exactly, I always thought the current Ranger's front end was narrow and weak looking, squared off truck face always looks better IMO

I would take a XL stripper superduty over a loaded ranger any day. The ranger is over priced and will be eliminated by ford again for the same reason it failed the first time. $$$
Would have to agree. The difference in price from the Maverick is too dramatic, putting it closer to the F-150. I feel they can drop the Ranger and not lose many customers, if any.
