I've had my Maverick for about 3 month now and have had difficulty getting use to the narrow field of vision in the rear view mirror. I found the following has really helped me:
I don't usually have anyone in the back seat except the granddaughter's car seat and discovered that simply removing the back seat headrests has greatly widened the field of vision. It also makes attaching the child car seat rear restraint easier. I simply keep the headrests stored behind the rear seat where they're handy to get to on the rare occasions they are needed (or stored under the rear seat).
If you have a child's car seat, I found that placing a swivel snap hook where the rear restrain attaches provides an nice extension, making easier attach behind the seat.
