Honestly it has nothing to do with any other company / industry.i get what you mean but everything on short supply. Did you know Hershey is on short supply now? When its world problem its little bit more understandable..
Ok fair enough they shouldn’t had offered it in the first place . Hopefully they have learned but I wouldn’t trust them and order lux if I wanted another maverick though . That’s for sure .Honestly it has nothing to do with any other company / industry.
Ford SOLD something it couldn’t deliver. That is the point.
Your example
Hershey is not estimating the delivery of their product to customers that have paid a deposit.
How can you get fleet purchase if your not a company ?I wonder if a fleet purchase might accelerate production? I'm looking to order a MY23 and I did not try a fleet purchase for the MY22 that I just received.
Or poorly ran suppliers. That’s an issue I get frequently. Suppliers give delivery dates, product shows up two weeks later with no communication or updates. My business is also affected. However I know within a estimated date range when I can deliver product to my customers. Hiding behind “supply chain issues” is the “go to” for poorly run companies
C’mon man! Blow smoke up your skirt as always is his only playSo, I'm curious, when the MY23 order bank opens next month, what percentage of dealers do you think will be honest about the estimated wait time for your shiny new Maverick?
"I'll be happy to place a custom order for you, but I doubt you'll see the truck for a year. Maybe 8 months if you hit the scheduling lottery. Maybe 15 months if you have constraints."
Yeah, that sounds like a great way to drum up business. People are just going to walk away and go to the competition if they are told that, right?
So, what's a dealer to do?
Not the dealers job to figure out what Ford can and can't do. I'd rather Ford be more transparent about some of their decisions with production and scheduling. Building out 22 models sans any luxury packages, but offering those same packages for 23 orders starting next month? Stick with my current Lariat Lux and hope I don't get rolled to 24 or settle for something less and hope it gets produced as a 23? And, all is still prone to allocations, proper dealer order submission through COVP/ROVP, and whatever "prioritization" they will have for rolled orders. Ford wears this mess, not dealers. Doesn't seem they learned much from the Bronco fiasco. So, I'm curious, when the MY23 order bank opens next month, what percentage of dealers do you think will be honest about the estimated wait time for your shiny new Maverick?

The dealer can tell their customers the current average wait time is a year. Depending on the status of the global supply chain and Fords production capacity the wait time could be longer or shorter.I’m not defending dealers but I honestly don’t think most of them will know. When I ordered mine in October, even Tim was confident every MY22 would be built by April.
