You do realize that Ford is only selling what they can deliver. Now they did take orders for more than they could deliver this year but Ford gets no money from orders. Your dealer may take a deposit but that money doesn't go to Ford. Your order is a ticket that says build me a vehicle like this, and I will pay you when you make it. If you paid in full up front it would be reasonable to expect Ford to have the parts purchased and sitting somewhere ready to build. The issue with that is running a production line like that would make the vehicle significantly more expensive and the maverick would lose it's afford price that makes it so appealing to people. The production issues are not just Ford, every automaker is having this problem. The only difference is that most other automakers don't allow custom orders like Ford does so the nitty gritty details get obfuscated.Not many.
I just checked w Ford's CS chat feature. Hoping my order was fulfilled (hybrid, obvi).
It is not.
I don't have a car.
I have been waiting this whole time. Without a fn' car.
When I ordered, I had a car. The salesperson told me (in Sept '21) that it would be a month. OK, fast forward a month, I sold my car. Because, why not, I'm getting a new one.
And this BS saying, 'if you take this or that off of your oder".
No.
If Ford did not have the parts available, they should not have offered them. WTH. And most of what I ordered (co-pilot) is standard equipment on other cars, even under 20k.
I mean, whatinthesuperfk???
If they can't fulfill 22s, then there shouldn't be this nonsense of 'when the oder banks will open up to order a '23'...They should NOT open up. If the vehicles and parts are not available for purchase, stop selling them. Is this complicated?
I can sell you the Mona Lisa painting. You know, I don't have it. But whatever.
That does not stop Ford from selling things. Who wants to buy my painting?
SO MAD! I feel lied to. I feel cheated. I feel like a sucker.
I am aware it's not personal and there are many forces at play here. I'm sure Ford would love to fulfill their orders. But, being upfront, honest, and only selling what you CAN deliver is the most basic premise of an actual business and decent conduct.
@Ford Motor Company = blech
I am not saying Ford couldn't improve communication during the order and build process. But their build process and inventory management is what allow them to sell Mavericks at the price they set. If you want to buy a maverick where all the parts are already allocated then you have to buy one off the lot. It is a situation that sucks but trying to paint blame here doesn't fix anything.
