You are definitely confused, ActiveX is "not" just vinyl. According to the patent it is Synthetic Leather, and has already been around for years. It's been tested and is in fact more durable than leather and vinyl.

Wouldn’t be the first time marketing messed up. In order to be vinyl it would have to be (C2H3Cl)n, if that compound changes it is no longer vinyl.
