I announced I was leaving when I bought a new Ranger last week. Dear God is the Ranger forum boring! You post something and it takes six hours for someone to even read it. On this forum, I could ask, "Is it better to change my oil at 3,750 miles of 4,000 miles?" And there will be 127 posts by the end of the day! I think I will continue to lurk here when I'm bored. 😂
3750 even on your Ranger👍

I hope you didn't have to wait too long for an answer.😁

The real reason that the Ranger forum is kind of slow and boring. Is that Ranger owners are probably a little younger and actually out having fun with their trucks. Rather than worrying and preening over them like they're Faberge eggs. 😁
Reality is. Rangers been around for a lot of years. A lot of stuff has already been discussed over the years.
Maverick is a totally new vehicle. Folks are going to have a lot of questions.🤷‍♂️

being 75 and worked on cars last 60 years i joined when i ordered my 2022.i thought i could help people a little if they had problems.i will give my honest opinion on questions if i know anything about what the question is.granted my truck and car knowledge is definitely on older vehicles.but this is also how i learn about newer vehicles by joining a forum.and i have definitely learned alot!so i,m hear to stay and just hope to be able to help other people.and i,m still going to keep changing my oil every 3,000 miles🧐

As we all know the demographic of Maverick Forum members tends to be on the plus side of 50. When a very active member stops posting at all I get a knot in my stomach. I tell myself they just lost interest or are to busy living life to check in. A few that were very regular commenters I haven't seen in a long time are @Maverick Country Club, @oysterville, @Ozarkbeard, @HenryFord. I know there are others that I am forgetting. If any of you long time inactive members see this just want to say we miss your input.
Over 3 years here! Hoping to get 15 years out of our mav!

As long as I own a Maverick, I'll likely be here.
Seeing all the things people are doing has me reading and/or looking more than posting.

The comments on the ad-nauseam posts are valid, or at least i feel the same way.
I just bypass those, try to help where i can, and keep it moving when I can't.

Lot of knowledge and good ideas come through this site.
I am enjoying it still.

Perhaps some of our older members get frustrated when people use letters instead of words.... I am one of them 😭....

After the third time having to use a jump box to start mine, I sold it back to the dealer. The last time, I had to drive 40 miles with ONE brake working and SEVEN urgent messages rolling across the dash screen. Before you say, "Drive it more", it always had a Battery Tender Jr on it.
Soon, my NINE YEAR OLD RAV4 will be replaced with another Toyota. The RAV has the original battery in it. Also, always plugged into a Battery Tender Jr.
The Maverick cost me $10,000 dollars for 3 years use. Paid $36,000, got check for $26,000.
Care to guess what the Toyota lost in 9 years? $10,000. Paid $26,000, getting $16,000 trade in.
The Maverick was my first and last Ford.

This geezer has been around since I ordered my '22 XLT LUX Hybrid. I still have it and still follow the highlights here for anything useful to me. I've contributed to a few threads over the years but I don't just comment for attention. I'm that way in all 'my' Maverick groups as well as the various camera, wild birds, and other special interest ones in which I mostly lurk. It's kind of you to notice the absence of some regular voices since so many online forums seem to have lost the social roots of social media.

Sometimes people get bored with subject specific web sites. Some...like a close friend of mine...traded his 2023 XLT Ecoboost (which he loved) in for a Jeep Gladiator because he needed something bigger and more rugged. Then there's what sadly exists on every web site including this one....Trolls. The ones who feel they have to make snide, sarcastic remarks on everyone else's posts where they could and SHOULD just keep scrolling....

I joined hoping I'd love my Maverick.

Mostly now I just pop in once in a while to see if there are new recalls I need to be worried about as I can't check online as the site won't work if you block ads and trackers.

I'm probably more active here in the winter when I can't ride my bikes and therefore spend more time in the POS and am angry more about stuff that should work that doesn't.

I love what the Maverick should be and when stuff works its awesome. I wouldn't give a rats ass if I had paid half what I did.

Sorry, guilty as charged. Here's a snide sarcastic reply to your reply. You seem to be repeating yourself 😆. But I do thank you for your input.

Ah, you’re confusing “CB” radios and “HAM” radios. HAM radio operators are monitored by the FCC not the local police:)

CB operators are a more casual group and don’t have an expression like “silent key” to designate a passed compadre.

Maybe something like “Hank went 10-7 permanently”
