Members who seem to disappear

Agreed. People have gotten extremely lazy, I was recently told that instead of posting a screenshot of an Amazon product, a link would have been more useful. How 'effin lazy are you when you can't search for yourself????

How are you so lacking in forum etiquette that you dont know to post a link? Especially if you then act like an out of touch Boomer and lecture people about how lazy they are to not search things themselves?

Yeah you are going to get flamed hard for that one. Both those things are considered rude and out of touch.

I know some get bored with the forum, or join and participate for a few weeks and never come back. The ones I mentioned were active, very active, and just stopped being seen. 1 in particular seemed to comment hourly on threads and just NADA in the middle of the day.

People just get bored, or something annoys them, and they leave. It's that easy.

Very rarely is a forum that personable that people announce their departure. The only forum I can think of that is that close is the VWvortex forums, were some users have been there for 20+ years.

Let’s be real, it is a vehicle, there are only so many things to talk about. This place was very busy for the first few years when the Maverick was new and an unknown quantity, but there is nothing new to discuss other than the latest recall now.

Things will get a boost when MY27 is announced and we can moan about price increases and what Ford cuts out this time around. The real increase will come when Gen 2 is announced and it‘s all new again, with new first year items, issues and such.

Members who have thousands of posts just got bored and stopped logging in. I HOPE that is the reason. 1 I mentioned joined in April 2025 when I did and was very active daily until they just stopped. You joined in March and are very active. If by chance we never see you on the forum again after this minute we can just chock it up to you got bored.

@icegradner you are a good example of the members I am talking about. Many posts, long time member, one who contributes good information. If after today I didn't see you commenting again I would wonder why. Maybe the fact that I'm at a point in life where I have more friends and family no longer here then the number who are still with us makes me think about it more.
BTW I would miss your contributions.

Disappearing members happen a lot on the Smart car forum. The owners on that forum were as old if not older than here.

I announced I was leaving when I bought a new Ranger last week. Dear God is the Ranger forum boring! You post something and it takes six hours for someone to even read it. On this forum, I could ask, "Is it better to change my oil at 3,750 miles of 4,000 miles?" And there will be 127 posts by the end of the day! I think I will continue to lurk here when I'm bored.
