I am surprised that some Maverick owners think Ridgelines are "ugly". I do think the Maverick is better looking overall, especially the front end, but both trucks have an understated appearance that should age well IMO. Unlike trucks with exaggerated flairs and scoops in an attempt to appear more masculine. Both are unpretentious looking vehicles.

I prefer the Ridgeline's back seat storage configuration and 48+ inch wide bed between the wheel wells. But I like the more basic trim and price of the Maverick XL. I actually prefer a vinyl floor like in the base Ranger/F150, as basic transportation is what I want. Something easy to maintain but functional.

If only there was a midsize truck with a quality drive train but with minimal driver assist and tech features and that would be my favorite.

Try as I might, I cannot see what the vehicle I am riding in looks like.
And, those commercials showing pedestrians fainting from the sight of a vehicle driving by them . . well, that has never happened and never will happen.
A 57 Chevy in white and blue might snap my head around, but NOTHING built in the last 50 years. Cookie Cutter Crap.

We have 25 Ridgeline Trailsport and 23 Maverick XLT Hybrid in the household. Happy with both.

Snow in Buffalo? Just joking, my fwd hybrid did great in snow in Illinois and Wisconsin but it was an easy winter. I bought a set of steelies for snow tires for this coming winter just in case. Don't know what tires yet.
Update. I bought a set of Blizzaks for the winter and they were great. I had a AWD Maverick before this one and it was as good as that. I'm sold on the FWD and snow tires, at least where I live. If I was on the other side of Lake Michigan I might be singing a different tune.

The older I get, the less I care about some things. Practicality is king. I still like to go to the car shows though.

I'm right there with you! At one point, I would rush to get rid of steel rims ... especially with not even hubcaps. But now, as you said, practicality is king. I love the practicality of my XL Maverick and could not care less about the steel rims, plastic dash (after I realized, I've never once fondled my dashboard and said "oooooh, so soft" lol), etc..

Ok so it’s made in Mexico. It’s still Ford.
I will not buy a vehicle from across the Pacific ever again.

I would have considered a Ridgeline as I generally like the styling and a lot of the functionality they have but as others have stated here, they price was too high, even in the used market. Add in dismal fuel economy and my personal preference for electric/hybrid drivetrains and it just didn't check the right boxes when I was shopping. That said, I do sometimes envy the slightly longer bed and the in-bed trunk.

Thanks to all who have commented
I’ve wanted a Ridgeline for a long time. Wife had a 17 Pilot for a while. Their AWD system was great. Was very close to purchasing a Ridgeline but held off due to over MSRP dealers.
Did get a 24 Lariat Hybrid that unfortunately turned out to be a rattler & deep sleeper - but it never leaked. Have a 24 XLT FX4 4K Tow that I really like & fits my old timer needs perfectly and for a whole lots less money.
i still follow Ridgeline forums and look at them, but glad I have my Maverick.

When I was looking at mid size trucks, first looked at Nissan baby truck. First impression…cabin smallish, and price.

Next was Ridgeline. Again, small cabin, and Honda too proud of prices.

Next was Maverick. Oh my, cabin felt great. Price something to smile about. Only issue was trying to find locally, 2023.

Lucky for me found one that just arrived dealers lot, about 27 miles away.

I looked at the Ridgeline but quickly ruled out purchasing one since they aren’t “flat-towable”.

Has anybody had experience with the pivot storage boxes? Any other ideas how to increase Maverick storage space?
I installed the passenger side pivot bed box, I went with passenger side because the drivers side would block the power outlet that the lariats have.

I mainly bought it because of the ford points, and with the memorial day promotion it was only $37 out of pocket.

Install was easy enough, and the latches keep it on the bed securely. I do wish it locked open in the swing out position somehow.
