thats fair, we will just have to disagree.
i wholeheartedly disagree and think its a very shortsighted decision, luckily, one that neither one of us will have to deal with.
if at the time of purchasing your maverick, they said
“hey we found the same exact maverick on the lot except it doesnt have a hitch — we’ll knock $100 off the price”
would you do it?
I would think it hurts resale value as well ... not only does it not have 4K tow... it doesn't even have a receiver.
0K tow from the factory on a truck is an interesting choice.
I guess for a fleet vehicle every dollar counts.
That's fair.
What's the savings difference omitting the receiver? A quick search shows $100 from the build sheet, which honestly doesn't make sense not to get it, but to each their own.
I think it's safe to say that you would be in the minority of truck buyers looking for a maverick...
that would be a silly move on fords part, the maverick is/will be a lot of peoples first foray into truck ownership (was for me) -- and to not have it come with a hitch as standard would be a braindead move -- but who knows, maybe some mba typed that into chatgpt and it spit out that it was a...
I do think EV is the future, but PHEV is the middle man that's needed to warm up the masses. The US is massive and most of the world underestimates it ... it's not uncommon for me to drive what is essentially the width of the UK in a work day, so range anxiety is very real.
For me I would...
yep, thats a very good tradeoff, as long as there are no issues of course, but for me i would prefer the peace of mind having the early growing pains figured out. I can admit that the folks that got the first model year in the low $20k’s got a killer deal.
its all subjective anyways, as long...
What I REALLY would want and would get me to trade in, is a plug in hybrid maverick... same exact thing except a 50-80mi ev only range that I can plug into an outlet to charge overnight, but don't need to.
Maybe, had the '22 maverick been available when I needed a vehicle I probably would've gotten it as well, but I'm glad that choice was taken out of my hands because I think the refresh is better.
Cars are becoming more and more like computers, especially something electric. You have an issue...
Part of the reason being an early adopter sucks, because both of those are solved on a 25+
The fathom looks like it checks a lot of boxes, and I hope it's successful so I can get one someday, but it certainly won't be the first model year, ESPECIALLY on a new category entry.
you can't really just splice -- on the maverick the turn signals and brakes are combined, you need something to separate them -- tailgate led bars don't seem to be too popular on here, so you may have to just throw parts at it until you find one that works.
Something like this...
The tailgate strut is just a gas strut that slowly lets down your tailgate instead of letting it slam down when you open it. The tailgate has a lot of gravity in it.
Here's a link on amazon, theyre inexpensive and easy to install (took me probably 5 minutes)

Lariat is...
I've had decent luck with this on a previous car

and i wiped all plastic trim and headlights on the maverick as soon as I bought it to hopefully prevent it in the future.
