@OneAlienBoi, If you're changing oil on a Hybrid with only 3,000 odometer miles on the oil, you are throwing money out the window. Your ICE hasn't run even close to 3k miles when the ODO shows you've driven that far. Exception would be if your driving is almost all highway miles. And even then, with full synthetic oil, your changes at 3k are very excessive.

Check soon AFTER an oil change.
Many reports of over filling.

5.7 ≠ 6 just because you or the guy doing it doesn't want a partial container laying around.
Yeah, I check the color right after change, but is it ever NOT overfilled by any shop? The only time I've ever had it NOT overfilled is when I did my own changes. I've done quite a few but I'm done for a while.

Hard to tell when or why to report an overfill for the layman. 7200 miles, oil life 42%.

If god had wanted us to check out own oil, she wouldn’t have given us idiot lights.
Well, they are called "idiot" lights for a reason.... 🤠

There definitely seems to be a lot of people who are out of blinker fluid!
their bulb grease is gone as well.

I always questioned if the time spent getting gas was long enough for the oil to run back down to the bottom end so you get an accurate reading.

Probably is since back in the day it was SOP for gas station attendants to check the oil.
They didn't care. I came to that conclusion at a very young age when I watched an attendant spit on my father's windshield to help remove a very stubborn bug. More often than not the bigger dip stick was the attendant and not the one used to check the oil.

Back in the muscle car part of my prior life, I would not let them anywhere near my cars. I would insist on pumping my own gas.

"Oil change required" alarm message showed up yesterday. Does that count?
Well, yeah, I would say that's a safe bet.

Check the blinker fluid to especially if you did the recall blinking that fast will burn up the fluid🤥
Synthetic blinker fluid prevents it from burning.

Well I did something strange yesterday. Probably something that's rarely done. I mean hell, we've got people driving until the fucker catches fire, driving with their eyes closed and engine noises.

I actually checked the oil level and condition at the gas station. It had been a while, I'll admit and 7000 miles since the last change. The oil looked good, level was good and smell was good. 10,000 (Hybrid) miles 'aint no thing as long as you check your damn oil.

Thumbs up if you've checked your oil in the last month.
I have changed it in the last month. Try to to do it every 5 to 6 k

Uh-oh! You can’t depend on the idiot light for that. That only indicates when the oil pressure is low.

I had a 73 Ford pinto, used oil so bad the practice was...check the gas and fill it up with oil 😆 used a quart about every 70 miles,ah the vehicles I drove while a poor college student! I can afford newer vehicles now so rarely check the oil!

Been checking oil on all my vehicles and family vehicles for decades. Can't count the number of times a simple walk around and oil check during a fill-up found a small issue that if left unchecked would become a large issue. Some were simple, fixed by me at the station with a few needing the dealer or local shop.

FWIW I do the same thing for my EV during charging either at home or out and about, walk around that is.
