I saw a couple of those and thought about them, but I also saw a YouTube video somewhere where they said that those cancel your battery saver sensor. And it also appeared that they constantly draw power, which is a bad idea. Maybe someone here has differing information.?
I used on for 40k miles with zero issues, battery or otherwise. To the best of my understanding it is just a small non-volatile memory chip that maintains the last input from the button. I have one for sale for 22-24 Maverick if any on is interested. Half the price of new. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...p-eliminator-22-24-maverick-50-shipped.81243/

I work from home and just don't drive my truck except for once a week. Auto-Start-Stop never turns itself on. :)

If this is for a 2025 you might as well forget it. I had to return mine. The video that they show for installation is apparently on an older model. Ford has gotten wise to this and there’s no way you’re going to access the connector without doing some serious damage.
@mwelby I just ordered on Amazon (third attempt) and I saw what I assume was your review, since it is worded exactly like your post. A reviewer after you said he too did not have the 7mm bolt. Apparently some later models are being designed differently in that area. He said he was able to install it by bending back the bracket or something like that.

Yes, the video that came with the hardware showed them bending back the bracket, but the bracket has been totally redesigned now so you can’t bend it back it used to just be a straight piece of metal sticking up that you could easily bend. now the metal goes up and curves around the top and over the back, and it appears to be bolted in the back so there’s no way to bend it back

Perhaps to salvage something beneficial from annoying products and usage.

So all the pre-25MY have center console button for AS/S - which the smaller cable is designed to plug into the back of?
None throw it up to dashboard?

ETA: below is incorrect per next post. Ignore for this button - but enjoy the view!

But the 25/26MY it's on the dashboard row of buttons, and even the 3 connection cable may not work on the module below there?
Where is button on dash though?
Or is it still on the console area?

Perhaps I'm not helping stop the confusion.

The button is still on the console, if it was on the dash where it was easily visible it would be easier to use.

started another thread about trying to disable the auto stop/start feature without spending money:

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...iler-brake-control-module.81338/#post-1342609

can't seem to find anyone here who's tried it: unplugging the trailer brake control module which also disables the auto stop/start

first read about it at this site:
https://cartipsdaily.com/how-to-permanently-turn-off-ford-auto-start-stop
Nice reference but personally I wouldn't like anything that would show a 'fault' light on the dash or especially disable the blind spot monitoring feature. I used Forscan.

amen to that and it's not just that it's sunday--but i couldn't agree more: why am i being so snotty about a device i can override at will and am seriously considering doing something to it that may well leave me defenseless? is it worth that risk just i don't have to push a button each time i drive? who's acting spoiled? . . . and on sunday too

Installed the 4Tech start/stop harness on my 2025 XLT today. Works great. Had one on the 2024 Bronco Sport I traded in and on my 2025 Subaru Forester Touring and never had any problems.
