Thanks, but I'll still check with the guy that files warranty claims with Ford.
He knows what will and won't affect claims. If I hear anything different than what you've posted, I'll let you know. Thanks for the information

The AC receptacle isn't powered when the engine is shut down. The light puts enough current draw on the AC when the engine is running so it prevents the S/S from shutting the engine down. You just have to make sure the light is on the whole time you are driving. You can paint the light black if you don't want the light shining in the back, but it never bothered me. I've not tried the light in the bed receptacle but may try that today when I go out.
Just got back from Home Depot. Plugged the light into the bed receptacle and it didn't disable S/S. On the way home I put it back in the AC plug behind the front seats and S/S never engaged. Cheap fix if you don't like S/S.

Am I the only person who turns it off immediately when I get into my Maverick?
Nope, my startup flow is step on the brake, put it in gear, parking brake off, auto start off, push the button to take that annoying seatbelt display off the screen and drive. About the same number of steps to start the airplane I used to fly!
