The best thing to hypermile behind is a low riding stock trailer, I once followed my dad's cattle trailer at 70MPH for 75 miles in hard rain(had great tires at the time), 2005 focus auto rated at 29mpg highway got 37mpg behind said trailerHere's a "HYPERMILLER" and Nascar tip (not me )
Tailgate, really get close to the 18 wheelers bumper and "big lifted" pickups. You'll be amazed (or dead ) by the jump in MPG.
Does that equal 100% City? This is what my 3rd full tank of gas got. 60% city and 40% city. Lots of hills in seattle though.
I've done in the 70's in my C-Max, over short no stop trips. This is not very representitive. Try about 4 tankfuls and see what that gives you.I'll start this thread with a score of 62 MPG over 6.1 miles with an average speed of 18.3 MPH. (Over 2 consecutive trips)
I got this number by sticking to L gear on Eco mode when driving through a small town. L gear maximizes regenerative braking, and can be helpful for MPGs at low speeds.
Since L gear is simulated, you can use it in small towns and still reach higher speeds like 40, though I'd probably switch to D if I were going 35+.
Has cruise helped or hurt your mpg?Now that I'm commuting to work on back roads, plus I finally got cruise control installed, here are some good trips I've gotten so far. I'd say the last one at 57.7 MPG is pretty representative of what I get on my average back road commute, whereas the other ones are anomalies. I'll still get around 55 MPG on some runs.
typo.. meant city - highwayDoes that equal 100% City?
