The seat is pretty low at the lowest height setting, but several people in this thread replied that the mirror is in their way, which might indicate they've got their seat too high. That height might be necessary to get the seat bottom at a comfortable angle, though, since the height adjustment is linked to the seat bottom angle...
I moved my mirror all the way up, then angled it so my DVR mounted behind it can capture video out the back window.

Is anyone else bothered by the size of the hood? To me, driving, it obstructs my view, and in my opinion is disproportionate to the size of the truck. Thoughts?
I some what agree with you, the hood is designed with the "Truck Body Style" I just wish that the Co-pilot 360 had front sensors like older models like the Escape CP 360. It's hard to judge how close you are to objects in front of you. They should of named it Co Pilot 180.

You could have landed a plane on that hood!
That honor went to the 76 Riviera my partner had, or the 70's Lincoln Town Car my buddy's father had. Those hoods could have been used as an aircraft carrier. Drove the Riviera a few times, wow huge and super fast with the 4bl 455 under the hood.....rated at 205 HP, but felt more like 300+, as it lit up both front tires.

Have seen/heard that reflection off the hood is blinding. This is bad. I don't want to have to put crap on my hood to avoid an accident, but may be necessary. No truck yet...

My first thought driving my new Maverick...wow that hood is high...then I figured out I could raise the seat. That helped out a lot...it's still high...but I'm getting used to it.

All trucks have high hoods.

It looks better to me than a Honda. The newer ones are better but the older ones looked like the front end of an suv.

A bumper sensor or camera would be good. I added a front bumper camera.

Apparently this hood from the second page of this post didn’t get the memo.

that's my truck and it's extremely easy to dent most aluminum hoods, this is a not another "Maverick is cheap" data point, necessarily. when I see pics of someone sitting on any hood, I cringe every time.

this was probably a forearm and they guy put a lot of weight on it, but still, I'm not kidding. do not lean on that hood to clean your windshield, wash the truck, apply wax, etc.

if you dent it on one of those contoured ridges, it can't be fixed with paintless dent repair.

It actually can be fixed with PDR, but most lack the skill or effort.

This is a great highlight of the never ending debate that an "I wish" thread like this could be.

Aluminum: Light weight & efficiency vs stronger steal. I say strength is steals pro, because in terms or durability and rust resistance it leans back toward aluminum. Woh, just thought of an all aluminum Mav with no finish, Delorean style! 😍, just dont bump it.

Hood height size and shape: Do you go purely functional and slope the thing down like a minivan front end for visibility and aerodynamics? Likely no one would buy it based on looks alone (how superficial and contradictory we all are😆). Maybe the hood size and hight has a functional bonus to help avoid dents in the aluminum, its not as easy to lean or sit on then.

Personally, it is what it is, and its my best choice of vehicle. Like my family members I'll accept its flaws and enjoy its strengths. Except for my wife, she's perfect 😉
