My 23 XLT came in the same way...the light would come and go. After a few weeks I filled it and haven't seen it since. Still love my Maverick...fun to drive...holds 4 people...fits in my garage...good gas milage, etc..

Probably more likely is the tailgate has a slight warp to it.🤔

It's not a obvious mod...the wire plug gadget is under the console. The only indication is the start/stop button is where you left it...doesn't go to on every time you start the truck. Still works if for some strange reason you'd want it on.

I bought the same thing off ebay for about $15. My Mav 2.0 loves me for it...especially the turbo.

When I got my 2023 Maverick XLT I needed to make it as versatile as possible...thus the portable headache rack, bed extender for trailer hitch, soft roll up cover plus a way to haul my Schwinn Orange County Chopper bicycle with a motorized kit. Most of the time it is just a Maverick with a soft...

I also have a soft roll up bed cover on it now...just roll it up to the back window when using the headache rack. Rack and bed extender is on or off in a couple minutes. Not real pretty but I only use the rack a few times a year.

Here's my DIY...a bit of red neck engineering. Loosen 2 jbolts and the headache rack comes out in a minute or two.

Buying my 23 XLT Maverick was one of my best dumb moves in a long time. Love it!!

The reason I installed the mod was to prevent the stupid restarts. The gas savings are supposedly about .4 mpg using the auto start/stop feature. Hardly worth the extra wear and tear it causes.

The best mod I put on my Maverick was the $16 Auto stop/start removal from Ebay. Still there if I want to use it...just don't have to push the button every time I start the engine.

I tried one of the light weight ones in a old Nissan that I used to have. Learned the hard way that doesn't work. I have a heavy duty one from Rough Country...only way it flies out is if the truck is upside down. Fortunately I haven't tried that yet.

When I got my Maverick I wanted to make it as versatile as possible...thus the tonneau cover, diy rack, bed extender, trailer hitch, bed lights etc. My most used kayak is a 10'11" Old Towne Manitou which I transport like the green REMIX in your photo. Loving my Maverick!

I call it my red-neck head ache rack...used parts that I had laying around. I don't use it often so wanted it portable and easy to put in and take out. The board is 2x10, I used some channel iron 3/4" x 1 1/2"...but you could use angle iron or lumber etc. for the frame. I used a couple pieces...

I opted for a DYI headache rack and a bed extender from Amazon. I'm 82 and still able to get my 14' 9" Ocean Kayak Scupper Pro loaded up. Also works with my roll up cover I installed. Works for me.

I went with the Curt and their wiring kit...spent more money but the factory hitch was on constraint and did not want to wait another year due to trailer hitch. Mine is a 23 Ecoboost.
