I need help choosing between a Hybrid that is loaded with all the options or a Tremor. (Originally, I wanted a Raptor but the prices are too high)

My current daily gets 20 miles per gallon, and with the gas prices rising, 140,000 miles on the clock. The maintenance is getting high. I think it is time for an upgrade.

I drive 40 miles a day(in traffic). Any suggestions?

That's a rather extreme difference (Raptor, Tremor, Hybrid). Although even the Tremor isn't that hardcore of an off-road vehicle, the hybrid is the other direction (maybe dirt trails and mild washouts). However, the hybrid will easily double your current commuting mileage (especially in your climate) while the Tremor may yield mid to upper 20's in urban congested traffic. What do you really prioritize?

My reasoning for choosing the Tremor as an option. While I won't be doing a lot of off-roading, I selected it because it's the closest option to a Raptor.

Have you considered a Ranger Raptor? Or is that too far out of the budget too? It would be a nice middle ground between the Maverick Tremor and F-150 Raptor.

I am biased but I love my 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid BAP AWD. I have 939 miles on it & get about 32 MPG. Ford has reported the 40 MPG is after the 4,000 mile break-in. I am only my 3rd tank of gas since May 1st.

Although I have a '24 Lariat Tremor, and love it, if I cared about mpg I'd start with a '25 Hybrid XLT w/Lux, and add a lift kit, tires, skid plate, wheelwell flares, etc to get the look you want.

This is so much a personal choice.

The way I see it, you have to decide if you want gas mileage or more giddy up when you press the go pedal.
I like the latter. I have had the 2.0 AWD setup in about 6 Fords, and love the pep.

You will people that like the other.

You need to go and drive both.

If you're going to use your new truck as a daily driver and are looking for better gas mileage, hands down, the hybrid Maverick is absolutely your best choice. With upwards of 40 mpg per gallon, you'd be saving a ton on gas money.

I say get the hybrid AWD. You'll love it and in a few months you won't know why you even considered the Tremor. If you feel like you need more traction for off highway use, get you some all terrain tires.

Rising ??
Adjusted for Inflation gas prices are at a twenty year low and have been since, well you know who got things going again.

I think the Hybrid averages 10 mpg better than the Ecoboost.
But,
The Ecoboost power never goes flat and feels like a small V-8 If that’s important. In traffic I would think not.
But up here in my Appalachian Mountains it mattered to me.

The hybrid will do what you’re looking for. It actually has more capabilities over the tremor if you get it with awd and the tow package. It can tow double the weight of what the tremor can. The tremor is more a specific use trim made for more extreme off-roading.

A Raptor what? A Bronco Raptor? Ranger Raptor? F-150 Raptor?

It's a personal choice only you can make. The AWD hybrid is not meant for off roading in the least. If you have any desires to take it off road you should get the Tremor.

I vote for the Tremor.
I have 2024 Lariat Tremor.
I wanted something more aggressive looking the hybrid wasn't.
I drive two miles a day, no traffic and the mileage aren't great, but mileage has never been a priority in a vehicle.
I'm more about the experience plus I go back to the day when many cars got single digit to low teens.
Of course, gas was under a dollar as well and you could cruse all night for a buck.
i miss those days.

Definitely a personal choice as has been said. It would seem to depend on what priority is going to win.

I went through this same consideration with a strong pull for the higher gas mileage but ended up buying a Tremor not because of the off road ability but because of the ride height. That small amount of difference was very noticeable when getting in and out of the two versions back to back. As a taller guy, I chose to prioritize my long term comfort over the gas mileage.

Those “less than a dollar” gallon of gas day will never, ever happen again. I’m glad you love your Tremor.
