New member here. I have been lurking around for a while but had to create an account to respond to this thread. I recently sold my 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk for a 2025 Lariat Hybrid. I have been a fan of the Maverick since it was first announced in 2021. However, the options were lacking and numerous recalls deterred me from getting one... Until now. I truly believe the 2025 refresh is the model to get and I've convinced myself that now was right time to purchase a Maverick.
When I first started to build and price my 2025 Maverick, The only options that were must haves for me were AWD, Hybrid, and 4K tow package. I was not interested in the Lobo nor the Tremor, as they both could not be optioned with Hybrid powertrain. With those options in mind, let's break down the prices for each trim:
XL - $33,050 (bare bones, steel wheels). Knowing that I would replace the steel wheels immediately, that raised the price of the XL to $35,200. (Falken Wildpeaks and nicer wheels). Also, since I had heated seats and steering wheel in my Jeep Cherokee, I would like to also have those options in my Maverick. However, they were not a necessity.
XLT - $37,440. I actually like the factory wheels that come with the XLT and Lariat trims. Since bumping up to the XLT, I figured, I might as well get the options unavailable to the XL trim. With the XLT Lux package, the price was just under $3000 less than the Lariat.
Lariat- $40,300. So what do I get with the Lariat that may or may not be worth $2,900 more than the XLT? Better sound system, unique day light driving lights, bed liner, adaptive cruise control (AAC), pleather seats, sound deadening front window, and bed tie down rails with locking brackets.
If we subtract the bed liner and bed tie down rails since you could also option the XLT with those options, the Lariat is actually $2,180 more than the XLT. You can get Mabett pleather seat cover for the XLT for $250 and upgrade the XLT's sound system with a pair of 10" subs and amp for $500. So, at the end of the day, you can almost build your own Lariat out of the XLT for $1,400 less. Are the unique Lariat headlights, sound deadening front window, and AAC worth the extra $1,400? To me, they were. AAC plus lane center assist pretty much drives the Maverick for you on the highways. I also think the Lariat's front window aids in a much more comforting experience in the cabin and enhances the Lariat's sound system. Other than the looks, I'm indifferent when it comes to the Lariat 's headlights and offer no advantages over the XL/XLT headlights.
At the end, TO ME, the Lariat was/is worth $1,400 more than a similarly optioned XLT. I think the Lariat will also have a better resale value if ever I decide to part ways with my Maverick.
