I don't regret but what I'm pissed about is, the Lariat doesn't get the pasinger power seat. The vehicle is made in Mexico, they can't afford do that?
The passenger does not need to adjust to reach pedals or go up or down so a short person can drive.
I would not want an electric seat on the passenger side. Sitting there, never used,
The scroll bar getting gummed up with French fries or kids candy.

Now that right there is funnay, we are so spoiled.

Yes! I hate the Active-X seats.

What does the last part have to do with it?

So I bought my 23 Eco used from CarMax with 3k miles. Over 2 years in, and about 25k miles added in 2 years. Generally happy. Some things I like; some things I don't care about. I got an OK deal on it. Never priced out a new one -- in general, I hate dealers and their games. Like the keyless entry. I have trouble getting comfortable on a long drive; some of it is the seat; some of it is the gas pedal size. I have used the sliding rear window on occasion when carrying things. Wish I did not have to have the wireless charging area and the support for a phone. Rather have a flat area. Radio is fine for me. I'd like a CD player, because I still have issues with the Bluetooth connection.

I recognize I got what I paid for and it's doing the job I bought it for (daily driver)

Cheap labor is my guess..
same labor to install the power vs non powered seat, except for plugging in a molex connector.

it was an awkward way to say it but really the person was just complaining about the passenger seat being non-powered even in the lariat. a ranger lariat definitely does have a powered passenger seat, as one example.

I had a 24 XLT ordered when the salesman called and said he had a Lariat come in that the customer couldn't finance. Had all options on it (including BAP and tow). The Carbonized Grey looks great with the BAP and the 18" Michelins with BAP pkg wheels set it off. I don't need to spend thousands to get it all factory. Oh yeah, the B&O sound set on "surround" with the thicker sound barrier windshield is fantastic. DEFINITELY happy I bought the Lariat (glad I did get the 24, don't care for the black roof and front grill and bumper).
Should have held out for the 2025- lots of upgrades.

There's a lot of talk on here and in general, online, about how the lariat isn't "worth it" and "you're turning a 20k truck into a 50k truck" etc. But has anyone genuinely regretted getting the lariat? I'm asking for 2 reasons,

1. This is anecdotal, but I would make the decision again in a heartbeat. I love it, and i love every extra little feature it includes. I think the argument that I could get a ranger for the same price is a stupid argument because I don't need the extra capability of a ranger and I want the extra features that wouldn't come with a base model ranger. It's like asking why wouldn't someone get a mustang instead of a miata. Some people just want the miata.
2. I frequently see people spend more money modifying their trucklets to copy a Lariat than had they just gone with it in the first place. 1000$ seat covers, thousands in speaker upgrades, diy wireless charging/400w bed plug etc etc. Seems like they should have just got the lariat in the first place.
What are your guys thoughts?
You are on point with your comments….you can fix up a XL with a lot of goodies cheaper EXCEPT nobody factors in their time spent….my truck is done and I don’t have to get new tires and rims - and sell the old ones, etc.,etc.

Not to mention you won't get a dime for the all the additions you have done at resale and isn't covered under warranty. In the end you still have a XL.

That's a very valid point regarding any aftermarket additions unless they are extremely well done and you won't really get any value for them you just won't get dinged for them either.

Yeah, American auto workers, UAW wants $28 an hour and full benefits. At a Minimum!

The Mexican worker needs enough to support his family of five, say an annual income of $4,500.
Thats about $2.25 an hour.

That’s why Ford Is there and if someone in America didn’t know that,
Well, there will always be sheep.

Not to mention, depending on the mods, could be grounds for refusing warranty claims in part or in whole. that could be worth thousands.

Right but imagine thinking that the power seat takes more labor than the manual seat. The time to install both is equal so the cost of labor is irrelevant.

in the case of an XL, though, wheels are exception. I am very sure that having replacement wheels compared to XL steelies WILL get more attention, sell faster and sell for a little more.

you might not technically get all your money back, especially if you put expensive wheels on it, but people notice really ugly steel wheels and like trucks that have something better.

(edit: obviously this is a private party sale. trading in or selling to carvana, car max etc derives no value from replacement wheels.)

Yeah I can agree with that for sure. Some folks love the steelies but it is the biggest turn off to me for an XL. That and the plastic steering wheel (but that is a personal thing. I believe ALL vehicles should come with soft touch wrapped wheels).

Even the black steelies on the Black Diamond edition Broncos were enough to keep from buying it and made me go basesquatch.
