At 80mph, the electric motor isn't adding any more power to the output.
That's why hybrid is more efficient in city instead of highway. Much more efficient.
Most likely, it's one part supplier, machine or machine operator that had a history of this defect happening. They know every aspect of the assembly of each vehicle (which employees were running things, which batch of materials, which exact machines were in use on that particular day, etc)...
I have a 22 hybrid with only 75k miles and consider that to be 'high mileage'. The fact he's only had a couple big issues running almost 50,000 miles a year is quite impressive honestly.
Yeah, transmission is a bit tough to swallow, but sometimes things happen. Does he say exactly what...
Batteries aren't infinite. You can't leave a cell phone on forever and expect it to stay running. Same with the 12v in the Maverick. The cell connection is the first thing to be turned off as the vehicle sits long enough without charging itself up enough from driving it.
I have a 2022 Lariat hybrid. If I had to go buy a new one tomorrow, it would probably be a AWD XLT hybrid. The Lariat isn't really worth the upgrade with the prices being so much higher now. But the AWD is definitely on my list.
The demand for hybrid was so strong, they couldn't keep up. So made the EcoBoost the default and forced hybrid customers to pay up. Now, apparently supply and demand are fairly even for the hybrid so it's back to being the default.
As someone with a 22 Lariat Hybrid, I would never change back...
This is hopefully the situation and that whether Ford replaces it or NOT, get it in writing so that if LATER there's an issue you can report back that the issue was pointed out before the warranty expired.
No leaks to me is proof this is a production issue with the housing and not a crack that...
Dealt with insurance a couple times over the past few years due to my dad having a few accidents.
Depends on the state. Depends on the insurance company standards. But once you reach a certain percentage of the bluebook value, it's totaled. Doesn't matter whether it can be rebuilt. The rebuild...
See, this is actually how car selling used to be. High MSRP but then manufacturer incentives, discounts, promotions, dealer incentives, rebates, etc.
I think some of us got so used to MSRP being non-negotiable that when the MSRP went up (and a lot, this year), that people just assumed that's...
I am strongly against driving-related controls being anywhere near the infotainment/radio area of the dash. They should not overlap. Already bugs me the hazard lights button is dead-center of the dash below the screen. But the center console should be where the shifter, traction control, drive...
The interval is 10,000 miles unless you go a lot of towing, mountain or high temp driving. Look at your oil and see if it's even started breaking down yet
Just back and forth into town.
Trip in:
Trip back:
This was the second trip of the morning as I had to go back home. Didn't photograph the first trip cause I didn't think to look. But I noticed about halfway back to town I was getting every light at just the right time so I looked to see...
Had my 22 Mav since January 2022. Have 61k miles on it. Love it. Just oil changes, transmission flushes, and recalls so far. I do need new tires before winter. Aside from that, the thing has been everything I've wanted. And lifetime I've averaged over 40mpg. That includes tons of times pulling a...
I hit a possom or some other small white animal and bent inward the plastic bumper on the bottom corner of the truck, and bent in the bottom edge of painted metal bumper above it. Also, a small nick in the corner fender.
Total cost was nearly $3k.
Three times now I've had a vehicle in for...
I can definitely see windy roads that you're probably driving faster than the averge joe causing more shoulder/sidewall wear, and dirt can definitely grind down rubber faster. But still, feels too fast for me. At worst, did you see about getting any sort of warranty on them for the second pair?
Generally, companies don't want to sell anything that competes against their most profitable options.
McDonald's won't sell onion rings because it just takes sales away from french fries. Ford doesn't want to build cars because it takes away from their truck sales. And in their truck sales, the...
I travel for a living. And my 22 Maverick has sat outside, in the weather, for over a month several times since I got it. Usually around 2-3 weeks, at the latest, I'll get the deep sleep notification. Never failed to start up when I got home.
And I don't do any 'prep' other than making sure...
I've had one CV joint go my entire life. And that was the right side CV of a FWD Chevrolet Celebrity. The knuckle had one of the bearings crack and started scattering pieces throughout the boot. It only made a popping/clunking sound on slow tight turns. High speed slight turns didn't make a...
