The lariat extras to me, are something I was looking for. I had a 11 year old jeep compass with no frills and splurged. I wanted the pretty seats, safety features, black wheels, and nice sound. I love it so much. I ordered a 2025 lariat hybrid with 4k towing in desert sand.
I put in a maxmate bed cover, tuxmat mats, vinyl letters on the back, and tinted the front windows 20% to match the back.

To much of a control freak when it comes to my safety
That's my general reasoning.

However, now that rush hour stop & go traffic is a once or twice a month thing, going to car club breakfasts, I'm ready for it.

The amount of effort and reacting in it means that there are a couple of dozen times each of those mornings where there will be an accident if I miss something.

It used to be the only time I preferred an automatic transmission. I've come to really like the idea that my vehicle will slow down if I miss the sudden stop.

Uhm, miniature horses, I suppose, to fit in a Maverick bet?

OK, one thing to point out here, that hasn't been in 11 pages of this:

The driver's seat in the Lariat is somewhat different than the lower trims.

We toyed with a Maverick for me. I sat in and test drove one, but I couldn't fully extend my left leg. A very big deal for distance driving, as it meant that the seat couldn't fully support my thigh. For reasons beyond my comprehension, the Maverick power seats don't tilt the base of the seat; the whole seat moves up and down, unlike any I've ever hadj (except maybe my '72 Eldorado; we don't have it fully working yet). [tilting the seat is how us 6'2" people take up leg length to fit]

So we scratched the idea of a Maverick for me.

Which turned into getting one for my wife. She's always wanted a little truck, ever since her mother wouldn't cosign for the ranger, but would for a escort, in the mid 80s.

And while at a lot to look at colors (surprisingly, she chose the blue over eruption green ), a salesman insisted that I sit in the lariat (he wanted to persuade me to by an ecoboost, which he had, instead of a hybrid, which he lied about availability and price).

Anyway, for whatever reason, and whatever the difference, I can fully extend my leg in the lariat.

[years ago, I was in significant pain after driving 350 miles in my Miata--but I got a pillow support my left leg for the return trip.]

Anyway, her Lariat is currently on day 22 of Maverick Hostage Crisis, across town at the rail yard.

The luxury stuff made it a no-brainer for me (although she probably would've been fine with an L, let alone an XL --at least if it had AC and an automatic).

In fact, I would have probably gone above Lariat, if it existed. If there were a King Ranch trim (and if it weren't named that, or any other celebrity nonsense), I expect we would have ordered it.

*shrug*

We can afford the luxury stuff. I'd rather have memory seats, power passenger seats, tilt seats, and the other higher trim truck.

Maverick isn't over cost, but because it's easier for her to climb into than even an Ranger, let alone F-150.

You don't have a Lariat, so why are you responding in this thread? You understand the title, right?

I am showing the Lariat owners what they could have gotten with the same money. You are welcome on the xl thread.

We wanted what the Lariat offered that the XL and XLT did not offer.
I would think any informed buyer would know the difference between XL, XLT and Lariat.

The point is you can buy two xl's for the price of one lariat.

The point is I did not need or want two Basic trucks.
I like every other Lariat owner wanted one well equipped toy heavy truck.
We all buy what we can afford and have a need to justify our choices it seems.
Maybe this picture will enlighten you a little, grasshopper. ‘:p

Maybe not.
I like my remote controlled rear window and my sound deadening windshield and my B&O and my key fob start and my adaptive cruise control and my heated seats and self defrosting mirrors and I really dig my heated steering wheel and the best looking rims and I even paid extra for my Hot Pepper red paint job.
Aw there’s more but I got to go for a drive this am.
Later tater.

Really ?
let’s see,
My 2024 AWD Ecoboost Lariat was $36,700, divide that by two.
That’s $18,350.
Son you need to get better at math.

We have the same Hot pepper red as you. $300 for same color vinyl seat covers and I have had rear window, sun roofs and heated seats and find them not worth the money.

There are still folks that believe there was a $19,995 XL which there never was (add delivery charge) and that Lariats sell for $50K which they don't.

An absolute bare bones '25 XL is $28590 and a range topping Lariat Lobo $42345 which of course you can bump that price up a little with a sunroof and some other accessories.
