I missing a function that others seem to have. I have tried every combination of settings. Right now it is working well, but displaying the traffic sign speed in the European style. I can live with that if I need to
Enabling TSR is a journey unto its own lol. Depends on the truck model and screen. I did hours of fiddling around and I still couldn’t figure it out. Eventually someone discovered that it works on xlt fx4 6” screens only if the TSR menu screen is disabled. Counterintuitive, but that’s what works.

I'm going to be interested to try out the TSR mod, but getting it set for the UK might be tricky. I need the European signs, but the speeds are in MPH. Otherwise going to get real funky when I hit that village 30mph sign and the truck is thinking it's supposed to be 30kmh.

The sign setting shouldn't affect it's ability to recognize signs, just the style it displays on the instrument cluster. The IC's unit mode might matter if you have alerts enabled, though, and were in euroland proper.

Does it only restore the low bass or does it affect other things as well?
The best I can determine, it mainly restores the bass below the 35-40 hz range. I can't tell much difference in the sound otherwise. If there are other differences, it is minor. I would only do this if I had a real sub installed. I wouldn't do it with a factory sub, or one of the popular super slim all in one subs because they can't handle the low stuff.

Have you power-cycled the truck? Some changes to settings don't take effect until it's been shut down and restarted (just like computer programming changes)...I give it about 30 seconds off before booting it up again, even though it probably doesn't need that much downtime.

Yes, I power cycle after every single change. Just habit. I probably only wait 5 secs before I turn the key back on.

I kinda figured you did, but years of tech support experience has trained me not to assume anything. ;)

There is lots of useful information on MTC about using Forscan to make interesting and useful changes to the computer modules in our trucks. This post is not about using Forscan software or programming devices--you can find that information as a sticky in the Forscan forum.

This post is for those who don't speak hexadecimal* or are otherwise hesitant to change as-built codes (or for anyone who wants to make a quick change). I have compiled several changes you can make using "easy" (not as-built) mode. Instead of selecting a module through an as-built entry, look below it and there will be a module with the same name, but not as-built (not in all cases). Connect to that module. It's the same module, just named and accessed differently. The difference is that entries are in plain English [mostly]. Be sure to write the changes. Before doing any of these changes back up your as-built modules. Use at your own risk, of course, but these changes have all done well for me. I've included links in MTC for where more information can be found on these Forscan edits.
[*I know changing as-built modules does not require actually understanding hexadecimal--it's a figure of speech.]

Thank you! My Forscan Holy Grail is enabling Eco Mode as default.

All this info is great. Still looking for the ability to set cruise control to 15 mph. Currently, the lowest you can set is 20 mph.

Values like that are more embedded in the PCM programming. FORScan is not a magic wand; it can only modify flags that the programmers have specifically exposed mostly for option/trim/model configuration.

I would so love Eco and Sport mode, and no auto shutoff at stop on my XLT, but I am way too electronically dumb to mess with Forscan. I'm in S W NH, where would I turn to have someone competent do this for me, and what should I expect to pay? Would it void warranty?

I created this thread to help others not have to cull through all the various threads and posts with lots of replies and superfluous information. Please feel free to add to this list of Forscan edits, but it would be good to stay true to the attempt to include only instructions for easy mode.
