A regular battery should be sufficient for the 12v system. The focus on the type of battery doesn't address the problem. There's something deeper.
I miss the simplicity of the older vehicles. My F-100 was honest and basic. Few problems ever but I could diagnose anything easily.
I leave my Mav parked 2-3 weeks in summertime and have had zero problems. How do you monitor battery charge? I have a voltmeter in the cigarette lighter socket and it's been steady at 15.2v driving and 11.8v sitting with the ignition on.Just watched the battery charge % keep dropping and then no dome light. I don't drive it that much, so I'm sure that's part of the issue. But it seems kind of stupid to just drive your truck to keep the battery charged. They said it was charged to over 90% when I left the dealer yesterday and it's already down to 84% which is a little concerning!!!!
