FYI Inflation makes $3,000 in 1970 equivalent in purchasing power to about $23,042.01 today.

So that Nova price was the same as a basic XL Maverick today.
Right - minus all the features like air bags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, front wheel drive (or all-wheel drive), anti-theft features, backup cameras, and a host of other features that are standard on everything today... The equivalent of that Nova today is probably a Malibu, where the "loaded" MSRP is around $32,000 - or about the same as a fairly loaded Maverick.

It's really hard to compare prices of cars from different eras... That '71 Nova (which with a $3100 price tag would have been a pretty heavily optioned model - my '71 Maverick price was a whisker under $2,000) would not have had air bags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, front wheel drive (or all-wheel drive), anti-theft features, backup cameras, and a host of other features that are standard on everything today.
In 2002 I bought a brand new Ford Ranger Pickup 3.0 V6 Manual Trans Extra cab - Cost 21,800.
The Maverick seems like a bargain compared to 2002 prices :) That truck was one of the best Ive owned going nearly 400K until an idiot employee wrecked it.

Are those your only issues? If so you’re lucky. Mine has actual issues with the motor and after the current attempt to fix I’m doing ford buy back. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely hate this vehicle but your video is pretty nit picky. Relax, these are small annoyances on these things compared to other issues.

So far it's great but I have less than 100 miles and only local driving. Today my local Mustang club is doing a road trip and I will be on the highway for a good run. The 1"+ owner's manual has been a challenge to read but I am learning how to operate thing a little at a time.

I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that. Hopefully they get it sorted out for you.

It's amazing so many people justify piss poor quality simply because the price point is below that of an F150.

A new vehicle, no matter how cheap, should not squeak and/or rattle within the first 10,000 miles.

It is pathetic that we are over a year into Maverick production and they are still building vehicles that squeak and rattle. This type of stuff is generally resolved in launch, before any vehicles are released to be sold.
