I’ve never had this issue with previous vehicles. My receiver has a very short shaft but still visible to the sensors about half of the time when in reverse. I use the hitch frequently and typically leave it in. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they found a solution. Thanks.

Went camping this past weekend and after unhooking went to town for food. Backing out of a parking spot I had the backup alert. absolutely nothing around us , not even parked next to us. Finally figured out that like you my receiver was triggering the alert. The next few times it did not trigger. Not sure why it did the first time or if there is a setting to adjust. My fear is that I will get use to the false alert over the summer when the receiver is on and will back out when it is not safe to.

The smarta$$ in me wants to tell you to remove it when not in use, but just don't come back in a few years complaining that the road salt rusted it in place,,,,,,

Is a harness plugged into the trailering connector? If so, the sensor is active triggering the alert. I had to add a second trailer wiring system to my truck to prevent this. I run a lighted step bumper tied to stop and turn signals which triggered the alert all the time and defeated my back and side view cameras! Stupid! Just when you need them. An accessory 4 pin connector solved it quickly and easily. DONE.
