Today, I learned that if your Maverick has the factory spray-in bed liner, you get the Ford emblem embedded into the bed before it's sprayed..

Well emblem aside, I can understand why people want it to protect their paint/body from damage but then spray on a 'liner of sorts' that will chip/scratch/dent and otherwise mess up the bed as it has no real 'liner' to absorb said hits andl, while a true liner allows one to slide loads in and out without damage the spray in jobbie does not. We all like what we like and why we like it and we all have our opinions.

I Personally Like the Ford Symbol on the Factory Spray In Liner (which I have on my ‘25 Lariat)

Honestly...my favorite feature of the factory spray in liner (which was already on my XLT when purchased) is the fact that it makes my entire bed Black...and not white. Not only reducing the glare while using the bed...but looking cool to match the black accents on the truck already. So there ya go........Who gives a shit what slides around and knicks it...oh WAIT...I also have the Ford rubber bed mat .....so heavy stuff doesn't slide around and bang it up.

You can buy different brands of bed liner restore products to fresh up the surface of spray in liners. Some will also treat the black plastic also (annually or as needed).

The only thing I didn't like about the factory spray in is that it doesn't cover that strip of paint under the window. I bought some of the rhino liner tape and it's held up for several years now

If you really need that area covered, then you better protect the window too! Having a smooth painted surface helps any weatherstripping used to seal a bed cover IMO.

My Maverick has the spray in bedliner from the factory and I always wondered how the Ford emblem was put in before the bedliner was sprayed in.

I'm positive that wanting (not needing) that strip covered is a purely aesthetic choice...

All of the plastic trim along the top of the bed walls is black, so once the entire bed is also black, it would seem silly to have a couple inches of painted body color against the window. My aftermarket SIBL covers that strip, and I can't imagine it any other way.
