Did this to my 2017 Super Duty years ago it also had a factory spray in bed liner..
When I’ve had a spray in liner done aftermarket I always make sure they coat the lower bottom area of the tailgate…
Don’t understand why they don’t drop down over the bottom edge of the tailgate after all the bed liner is suppose to take the abuse so why do they always leave a 2-3 inch section of the tailgate exposed it always gets scratched up when you load stuff in the back and drag it across the tailgate into the bed and back out….. So I added some 3” textured rubber anti slip tape to that lower painted area of the tailgate you’ll need to do some trimming around the wiring entering the tailgate other than that it’s just peal and stick…
It
Had enough leftover in the shop to do the center need to get some more to do the corner portions but the center where most of the abuse happens is covered…
The best part is when it gets trashed you gust peal it off clean up the glue and install a new piece
