I called my Ford dealer to ask about this discount and sure enough it’s valid. It just so happens that he has a 2025 Lariat in Ruby Red with the 4K tow package but no bed liner. I do not plan to use the truck as a work truck and I do plan to put a cover on the bed so my question is, do I need a liner or maybe just a carpet to protect the bed when needed? FYI just under 39K out the door.

Okay, I posted this in the wrong forum, the question was for here. Advise, I’ve never owned a truck before?

100% recommend a spray-in bed liner. Does not have to be Ford/OEM.

I know you don't think you will make the truck "work," but the paint on these things is thin; the thinnest I've ever seen. You will be surprised 1) how easily the finish will get damaged, and 2) how horrible the bed will look once it does get some scratches.

I would throw the $500-600 at the bed liner and be done with it. The truck will look good for years and be no worse for the wear if you ever sell or trade it in.

I thought all Lariats came with the factory SIBL. Not having one is not an option? Did you see this for yourself?

The dealer said he deals with a company that does the spray in liners and he gave me a price of $550 so I might have that done before I pick it up. Thanks for the advise.

Funny, I was thinking the same, must have been a delete. I got the SIBL and I bought the Impact BedRug liner…my dogs will thank me once I get it installed with a SoftTopper.

Oh gotcha, I see -$495

The bed is also part of the frame, technically, since it is a unibody. Imo, a spray-in bed liner is a good idea to protect it from rusting down the line.

I like LineX. Best bed liner I've ever had. Was in my Silverado. Said this before but at least here, in my town, the lady that ran the store said she would honor the warranty even though I bought the Silverado used with the liner in it. She was a bad ass lady with a bad ass LineX Wrangler inside and out. Serious mud machine.
I ordered the FMOCO spray in for my Maverick. Not put it to the test yet but looks great and very similar to LineX.
Also said this before, local Ford dealer told me they used said bad ass LineX lady for their spray ins.
And yes they plug the holes. Threaded or otherwise.
