I kinda avoided doing this for a while even though I knew I should... just cut out a little bit of the black plastic BLIS camera cover trim to get my dashcam wires out of sight. Very tiny modification but I thought it would be nicer to have the wires gone. My drill bit jumped a tiny bit in my feeble attempts to be accurate while making the cutout.
I started out with the drill press which actually worked pretty well to cut the general shape of it. Then a round file to eat out the extra plastic, but I realized the file was a bit larger diameter than I wanted, so I tried to carefully use a dremel with a cutoff wheel at a slow speed, but that was kind of unwieldy... then tried free-handing with a drill bit in a cordless drill. Went back to the file and just committed to the file diameter even though it was larger than I was going for. Cleaned it up with some high grit sandpaper.
5/10 job visually, but success
