Mine has been doing it intermittently since new. Usually when I’m going to work. Keys in console. Not hitting anything. Check door when I get out -unlocked- next morning locked! I’m starting to go with the Gremlin issue. Maybe that’s why FordPass is free….gives them a workaround. Otherwise love the truck. Please let us know when the Ford “ENGINEERS” come up with a fix. Did a trucklet this size equipped with the “Poverty Package” really need power locks and power windows?….Just saying….
I have hybrid lariat. No one knows exactly how BMS Is programmed. Intermittently your doors are locked. Clicking occurs in middle of night. Somewhere I read that if truck is not approached for (2 hours?) the computer may recalibrate(?) the BMS. Is this the same up to 8 hours procedure that requires truck to be locked during that time. If so does this mean that when you go out in morning and truck door is locked and elapsed time has not been 10 hours from when you got out the BMS procedure has not finished OR possibly programmer forgot to unlock door when BMS finished. Also I noticed last week that my 12v when I got in the battery was 12.5 next day 12.3 next day 12.1 next day was 12.0 and next day was 12.5. just one time over several days means nothing but (???). 12.5 possibly approaching 75%-80% ? The charge limit found by forscan? Maybe 12.0 volts is "the let us charge this thing to 80%" and turn on the BMS update for the following anticipated long parking period. Who knows but computer controlled things are probably not acting randomly. I have written randomizing routines and it's very difficult to program something truly random. (Quick pick lottery numbers will not be truly random which was not wat I was programming).

I have a 2024 xlt awd at 6,000 Miles. My drivers side front door at times locks on its own while the other doors remain unlocked. Took it in to the dealer and they could not find any issues. Anyone else have this problem?
I have rubbed the lock tab right above the handle exiting a few times myself and drivers door locks right behind me , other doors stay unlocked obviously.
May be what happened!

But that would mean there is a chance they could be wrong. Can't have that here buddy.

We have the problem regularly where the door open lever, when released, our hand brushes the poorly located locking lever leaving the drivers door locked when exiting, we thought it was a gremlin at first.

I tested it. Definitely an electrical locking issue. Did it in my yard a few weeks ago. It locked 3 out of 5 times.

Thanks Jim, I'm just learning to navigate this site; I see my question has been asked before. It doesn't seem there's a clear-cut answer or solution though. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Reports of this issue date back almost to the first Maverick deliveries (and other models before then). And yet, has a single person claiming the vehicle locks only the driver door all on its own, ever actually heard the power locks activate uncommanded? Haven't seen a report of that yet.

If you pull the handle, release, and then push the door right there, you could easily push the lock in without noticing. My preference/reflex is to reach down lower for the grab handle/armrest.
I pull the lever with the left hand pinkie and push the door open with the left arm elbow at same time. This insures that my wrist is moving away from the door and is at least 3/4 inch away from the "lock only this door lever" at all times!

Interdasting. As someone who has also confirmed that this happens overnight (checked door unlocked and opening in evening, locked by AM with keys sitting in drawer all night...numerous times), I'm curious to try this next time it happens. Which is just reach through and check the lock tab and then pull the interior pull and watch the tab. Never thought about an exterior handle disconnect. Hmmm.

This happens to me all the time and no... I'm not hitting the lock when I open the door. I've checked many times. And of course my dealer couldn't replicate it, so...

Would you be willing to make a short 15 sec. video of it happening.
In their service of bulletin Ford implies it is human initiated.
I would like to prove Ford wrong.

I'm happy it's "only this door"

I've had the locking happen to me more than once, and I'm pretty sure it occured 2 ways. Regardless, the accidental door locking due to the design/layout of the controls bugged me so I did something about it.

When gripping the door lever and opening the door, the side of your hand can accidentally push in the mechanical lock lever and a fingertip can accidentally press the elec lock switch. Aargh!

This ended up being a good excuse to finally get familiar with 3D printing and come up with something useful. Bought the cheapest and most neglected 3D printer I could find on FB Marketplace and spent some time watching YouTube tutorials on the design software.

Measure, draw, print, fit, and repeat. Lots of trial & error involved but I ended up with a simple 2-piece solution that works well in preventing accidental pressing of the lock lever and button.

how far does that stick out? and ... are you sure it's not going to foul on the lock and then fail to unlock? (granted, you could likely just open a different door instead.)

I had this happen to me the other day when I got out to fill up with gas.

Phone was in the truck. Keys were in the center console. Got out and shut the driver's side door by pushing it shut while touching the metal frame of the door (made sure not to even brush the handle, as I had heard that can be the cause, so I make a habit of keeping aware how i shut the door).

Driver's door locked immediately upon closing the door. I absolutely freaked out thinking my keys had locked in the truck (along with my phone so i couldn't unlock via app). Thankfully, the back door was unlocked, but that could have been a day-ruiner for me.

I really don't think this is user error at this point. The door just locked on its own.
