Hey Glen Baker, this one's for you! Wife and I are thinking of getting rid of her 2014 Toyota 4Runner. She really likes it, but we don't need a large vehicle for her anymore. Anyway, she really likes the 2026 Toyota Crown Signia. Nice smaller SUV that replaced essentially both the Venza and the Avalon. I did notice an issue with the door locks! Hahaha. I will be searching Toyota forums to see if they have the same arguments over there. I'm with you and still waiting to see some good video.

Toyota Crown is more sedan than SUV IMO. Odd proportions.

We looked at the Signia while we wait for our Venza to come in. They are pretty nice but are more station wagon than SUV. The cargo area was a lot bigger on the Signia.

I would have to look but in the 80's Ford used a double where the other manufacturers at the time used a single. Open the door and look at the actual lock that actually keeps the pin or anchor on the pillar. Ford in the day 1980's used a double or scissor one top one bottom to secure the door.

They actually make two versions of Crown, one is basically the Avalon sedan, the other a clone of Lexus RX 350. I have driven both and little difference. It also compares close to the newer version (2024 Venza), but they quit making that one also.

Because it rolls/spins locked, compared to longer lever you can push on easier - I've never had the issue in the Rav4 which is similar to that.

But 2005 Rav4 - was your 2014 similar - lock was forward of the handle pivot point?

Location, location, location.
