Yes, I live near Miles the Monster, so there’s backing my little boat on inclined sometimes slippery ramps , there’s the sandy wet areas , the occasional winter snows and the additional traction it offers. I. Decided to let my 23 XLT go because I regretted not getting AWD. i refused the order and ordered a 24 XL AWD few weeks back.. in The end I felt I was getting more value with the base model XL and less option money spent on AWD compared to price tag on XLT with BAP and FWD

Awd yes
1- independent rear suspension
2- 4K tow I don’t have a boat but I have some family that moved frequently and I’m tempted by the potential for small campers
3- live in Massachusetts where you never know if the winter storm will be rain, sleet, snow or ice (or all of the above, switching every 5 miles) and i don’t want to mess about with snow tire changeover and storage
4- it’s more fun to put your foot down and go without spinning one of your front wheels

AWD and 4 Wheel Drive are the most popular up here. Subarus and GMC 4x4 are the best sellers. I won't own either one of the two.

Question: Does a '22 Mav 2.0 EB FWD have the same rear suspension as a '24 Mav hybrid? I've seen comments that the hybrid suspension rides rougher than an EB Mav. and I wonder if it is the suspension is different or are hybrid drivers pumping up their tire pressure to get better mileage? I am very satisfied with the ride quality in my '22 EB FWD and have a '24 hybrid [FWD of course] on order... I just don't want to regret going to a hybrid because of the ride quality. Anyone?
Hybrid and EB FWD are the same. AWD is different. See the tech specs doc.

AWD is fun to pull the FWD vehicles off the snowplow ridge when they get stuck.

Ahhh - thank you Jsus - right from the Ford/Mav website! Who knew it could be so simple. Same rear suspension EB FWD and hybrid [FWD] . The hybrid is roughly 100 lbs or one Irish mother-in-law heavier than the EB but that is not enough to negatively impact the ride. Interesting that both EB and hybrid have the same load and tow capacity. Again, much appreciated.

No AWD for me.

I have a very simple philosophy - if there is snow, then I don't go. That's one of the perks of retirement but was also true when I was employed.

Four wheel drive seems to add about 10% to the initial cost and also decreases gas mileage by 10%. Driving on salted roads increases vehicle corrosion by o_O%. I am a cheapskate!

Sand and snow. However most off the time it's in front two wheel drive.

It was what we wanted because in the winter we get a lot of snow at times and sometimes icy roads.

Not sure if this is going to cover all reasons but I'm curious.
AWD was the only Mav on the lot. Waiting for my hybrid. Anyone want to buy a totally loaded Ecoboost?

FWD will work well in a lot of snow conditions if you have decent snow tires on - RWD pickups not so much as there is no weight over the rear drive - AWD would have been nice but I was too cheap to spring for another $2,500

I wanted a Hybrid for awesome city MPG, where 90% of my driving time is.

Zero need for AWD for me. My village cleans all streets curb to curb of snow each snowfall.

It was a longer wait, but much higher resale on the hybrid in case I ever sell.

Never had or needed AWD. Last 11 winters I drove RWD only. FWD will be even better.

Last time I gassed up was 6 weeks ago. I have enough gas to finish this week too.

I started driving RWD Big Block cars on bad tires. The need for AWD is so overrated for most.

I'm not saying YOU don't NEED AWD. Everyone is different.

I am in southern California. So, I didn't order the AWD for snow, rain, etc.
I have a 1999 Land Rover Discovery SE7 for going off-road... So, that is not why either.
I bought it for two reasons: 1) I wanted the tow package, and 2) I wanted the better rear suspension for the better ride.
I am in SoCal too, Huntington Beach. We go skiing to Park City often. Last season with the huge snow year, I never had to stop at chain control or got stuck, even though I was driving the stock Conti street tires. Surprised me actually.

And yes, independent rear suspension is a nice ride for long trips.

If the Hybrid was offered in AWD form, I'd have most likely added that feature, but based my purchase on lower cost of ownership & fuel costs. My brother, a Ford Master-Tech 4x over (Engine, Trans, Diesel, and EV/Hybrid) strait out told me long haul the Hybrid will have fewer problems, and feels they're built better. He primarily rebuilds transmissions for a a living, and overseas 5 others on his team, they see the front drive 8-SPDs and even the Full Size Bronco/F150 Automatics in all the time, but cannot recall the last Hybrid that came in with a failed eCVT.

His other reasoning, they see blown gaskets on Eco-Boosts with higher mileage, and some lower mileage units, sometimes right off the hauler. (Newer 2.0 & 2.3 models with the revised block/head aren't nearly as bad as the last generation).
