@Flomounier1 would you be willing to share the name/location of your dealer?
I see you are near LA, which is close enough that I could maybe try your dealer to do the software update.
Galpin Ford, Van Nuys CA. I don't really recommend their service dept though. They take forever to fix your car.

No issues so far. Mine was built in late November/Early December. It was the ECU software they updated, not the radio/infotainment system software. I unfortunately don't know what version the old one was or the new one is. I think you need ForScan to find out.
Glad it seems sorted!

I tried the trickle charger but it couldn’t keep up with how fast the battery drains.
Now I have installed a kill switch on the battery to “solve” the issue. That is because Ford dealer claimed they cannot reproduce any issue with the battery. (Which is silly because I can measure a large discharge very easily after a few hours)
There is no way you should have to do this to be able to start a new vehicle. It is absolute nonsense for what seems like so many folks to have had to deal with. Multiple threads on this issue.
The batteries in our hybrids don't have to do a lot of work to wake up the vehicle, compared to having to start an ICE. If they can't do it it's because: 1. the battery has failed due to a manufacturing issue, 2. something has drained the battery when it shouldn't have, or 3. there is an issue with the vehicle's electrical system (whether software or hardware) preventing the battery from supplying the current required. Perhaps I've missed something, but can't think of anything else.
Holy moly, a dealer should be able to diagnose and repair these problems in a reasonable time with Ford's support.

@skinnyboy i couldn't agree more. I even brought the information from this forum with me and told them to just do the software update. But nope.
And this is a big Ford dealer in Bay Area.
Sigh.

But I'll find a dealer who will take it more seriously.
I was planning to wait a few more weeks so hopefully dealers have more experience with these common Maverick issues.

If these dealers keep turning a blind eye saying there is no issue then they won't get more experience because they don't care...

That's frustrating lumonix, feel for you.

I really like my Maverick and am pro Ford (used to work for Ford Electronics) but dread having to go through this routine if issues crop up. If this is what getting warranty work completed is like, why on earth would someone buy an extended warranty?

Please keep us updated, this forum can be such a great resource for helping solve these problems

Hello there. Could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you are working with? I would like to look into this loss of power issue you are experiencing.
Thanks, I actually DMed you a few days ago and got a case ticket number

Update on my hybrid,2 weeks without the truck, and dealer is taking care of rental car in the morning, also on the morning call tomorrow with the dealership,I will be bringing to their attention the catalytic converter issues, thinking 2weeks should be able to do the software updates ( you would think).👍

I used to get the deep sleep mode intermittently from February through March. The truck would start fine, and I thought maybe it was the dash cam with parking mode that was draining the battery. So I disabled the parking mode and stopped getting the deep sleep notifications. It's been working fine until yesterday when the truck had zero power like others have experienced on this forum.

Jump started it, took it immediately to the dealership, and on the way there I got a check engine light with the message "The powertrain control module has detected the power relay de-energized earlier than expected." The truck was running purely on HEV mode, no combustion engine at all. Technician checked the battery and it was in excellent condition, so he suspects that it's the known electrical issue that HEV Mavericks have. But I probably won't get my truck back for 2 weeks :(
How far was the dealership?

This is really making me nervous about my decision to order the Maverick hybrid. 😔
I'll bet the vast majority of hybrid Maverick owners are very happy with their truck, I certainly am. The unfortunate circumstances facing some owners are likely the exception to the rule, and all makes and models suffer some production issues. Certainly Ford (and all car manufacturers) should do right by their customers by providing a positive experience if warranty work is required though.

Day 4 - Ford Service Update, Gullo Ford, Conroe, TX. Service Advisor, Dean Wachner, called today to let me know that they are perplexed and continuing to research the problem, They have opened a ticket with Ford for assistance. Battery, Alternator, and everything checks ok, but 12V battery is immediately drained when car is turned off. They are also still "working" on a loaner car.

History: Hybrid Lariat - 5 months and 4500 miles of flawless performance. No "Deep Sleep" messages or any type of warnings. May 22, I drove 10 miles, parked for 15 minutes, got back in it and it was as dead as a door nail. Never a problem of any kind before. From reading this Forum, I told myself, "Aw s!*t, Dead Maverick!". Knowing what lay ahead, and being totally pissed and extremely disappointed, I called Ford Roadside Assistance to begin the process. He jump started it with a booster, but after I turned it off, it was again completely dead. He jumped it again, and I headed straight to the Ford Dealer and parked it in the Service Lane. After driving 20 miles, it was completely dead again. May 23, I called the Ford Service Advisor, who said that the battery looked ok, and they were checking everything else for Hybrid problem possibilities.

Why don't they replace the 12v just to see what happens.

I think that they may have tried one, but the battery is fully charging, and mysteriously instantly draining when turned off.
