I will believe it when I see it.

@Ford Motor Company needs to issue a recall to replace all the known defective parts. I went through one set around 35K miles and am sitting at 63K on the second set.

It seems to impact the hybrids more than the Ecoboost. Why? I don't think anyone has an idea.
Different transmission, different axles. I don't know what Ford miffed on the hybrid axles, but we're hoping the updated part will be much better. I'll have to look at them side by side to see if their is a notable difference.

It’s not just side by side you’re going to tell the difference. @Bwicka has already documented the differences between Tremor and eco and hybrid.

It’s an entirely different internal design.

I was speaking of the difference between the old and new hybrid axles. I’m curious to see what the change is.

I suppose somebody could shed some light on whether it happens more on hybrids than ecoboosts. Maybe a poll that asks people to respond ONLY if they've had CV issues, do they have a hybrid, an ecoboost FWD, or an ecoboost AWD.

It wouldn't be scientific, because it's a self-selecting sample. But it maybe points in the right direction?

Right. I just mean setting them down side by side will not show much unless you tear them apart like @Bwicka did.

Raptor axles for everyone! My poor Tremor axles couldn't even handle a leveling kit without crapping out
What internally broke on them ?
The ball cage ?
Or were they not inserted fully from the factory ?
End spline stripped?

Ty.24,000 on our xlt.no issues so far.
Much more of a hybrid thing.

The ones im having modded am looking at a chromoly cage that will be polished along with the star end too .
I have seen where some people have not re-inserted the axles to fully clipped position on inboard side and the splines got stripped , would that have been your problem when the lift was installed ?
Pics would be great of the failed section.

Take this with a grain of salt, it's just a game of he said/she said at this point in time. But it sounds like Ford identified engineering flaws with the CVs and reengineered them. Again, nothing official, so don't get your hopes up. Please God let this be true.

Probably not but I think a customer satisfaction/TSB will happen
Perhaps, as someone who likes to address things before they become an issue, I hope it's a recall and not a TSB, as I kind want to swap my axles out before they even have a chance to go bad. I had no idea what it feels like when CVs go back, but based on how it's been described, or sounds terrifying.

I had a Kia Rio where the steering wheel would try to violently move back and forth at highway speeds. It retrospect, maybe that's what CV failure feels like, but I have no idea.

I had my axles replaced at the dealer. I told the mechanic that there are many owners that have had issues with them and he didn't believe me. After the axles were replaced I felt a slight vibration /rumble in the left side (the right axle was the one that went bad). So then they called me and said they are replacing the bearings.Right now it has been in the shop for a few days with me driving a loaner Escape. I like the Escapes more car like driving characteristics, but wondering if the Escapes have the same CV axle issues.
 I have just under 25k on my Maverick. At this point don't know if I am going to keep it or trade it in. I bought an extended warranty to 100k, but what good is an extended warranty if you have to keep taking it into the shop. I mean am I going to have to get the axles replaced every 20-25K miles?
