CV axle fix MIGHT be coming soon

Logistics of designing, manufacturing, and distributing these new parts when there is already a long line of people waiting for them. Unfortunately this process can take some time. Considering the Maverick is a relatively new model, built on a relatively new chassis, there's always going to be growing pains.

It's also important to remember that Ford is always going to prioritize putting parts on new vehicles over warranty claims.

Yes, we actually got a set in for a customers truck this week. Side by side you can tell they've changed the design at the outer cv joint. The housing is slightly different, looks to be beefed up a bit.

So glad we have a fix and all the "these are isolated issues, you only hear of complaints on forums, you must drive hard etc" people can understand when lots of people complain about the same issue its most likely a legit problem.

Battery drain fix early 25. Camera fix coming soon too.

Just in time to get bugs worked out on original model.

Good luck all with the 25's. New electrical system (for the maverick) = new problems.

what new electrical system? only new electrical option I see new on '25 is the 360 camera. everything else for the most part is the same

Only new electrical system would be sync 4 and that's not a new system to Ford. Hopefully the 25s will be rock solid.

You'd be surprised, they managed to mess-up the 4K trailer wiring harness just migrating from the 2022 to the 2023 model year. Remember recall 23C04?

Now that we've established that the CV axle design has indeed been improved, the question now is by how much? Is it gonna last 10k miles longer than the original design on average, 40k, 100k? That's the question that's yet to be seen.

Here's hoping we get a full on dissection of them to discuss the improvements moving forward. Good on Ford for addressing this, a lot of brands don't.

Most brands don't have these problems, and Ford has been remiss to take almost four model years to correct it! I'm really skeptical about keeping my Maverick half as long as I do most of my vehicles (10+ years).

I bought the 100k mile warranty and will not be keeping it 1 mile longer. I’m currently at 60k. I’ve had the engine and transmission already removed around 25k to replace the engine dampener and now I’m bouncing around on a bad cv axle because the new ones are backordered. I do not recommend anyone ever buy a ford maverick.

I have a 2022 2.0 Ecoboost with FX4 and 4K tow and 35,000 miles. Have used it plenty offroad and for towing up to 3,000 lbs, often pulling a 3-rail trailer with motorcycles to the desert. So far no issues with the CVs/axles. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe it's true that Hybrids are worse.

I have replaced several CV joints or axles on my own in the last 50 years of driving. Every single time it was because a torn boot let grease out and dirt in. I have also driven lifted 4x4 pickups with CV joints and never had a failure. You would think Ford and other companies would have perfected the CV joint/axle by now.

I recently upgraded from the cheap 225/65R17 Pirelli Scorpion ATRs to 245/65R17 Vredestein Pinza ATs, an inch larger diameter. Eventually I want to install a 2 to 2.5 inch lift. I feel with the improved axles the truck can take it. Have even thought of ordering a set of the newer axles ahead of time. Not sure if I'm going to do an entire spring swap or just coil overs. That's another topic that has been addressed on this forum.

Not sure if its the picture angle or not but the replacement axle looks to be way longer

If you don't think other brands have problems my friend you are sorely mistaken. There isn't a single car model on sale right now I can think of that doesn't have recalls and stories on forums of widespread issues. It's just part of life.

The Hyundai SC for instance has a shit ton of problems.
