CV axle fix MIGHT be coming soon

Logistics of designing, manufacturing, and distributing these new parts when there is already a long line of people waiting for them. Unfortunately this process can take some time. Considering the Maverick is a relatively new model, built on a relatively new chassis, there's always going to be growing pains.

Then they should have a fleet of loaners at dealerships so people don’t need to risk their safety driving around on a bad axle.

Yes, we actually got a set in for a customers truck this week. Side by side you can tell they've changed the design at the outer cv joint. The housing is slightly different, looks to be beefed up a bit.

Reminds me of the images I've seen comparing Tremor shafts to the standard shaft. Maybe they took Tremor design and fit it to standard Maverick applications.

I would assume they've probably adapted the new design off of previous ones to save development time.

My apologies, I thought you were asking if they were for both models. These were indeed for a Hybrid.

tha lnk you so much for your info. I ordered a '25 and plan to trade my '23. if the new axle is better might even consider a small lift.

True. The best part of all this is I get to do it all over again when the driver side axle fails. So excited.

I count more ridges in the boots and slightly larger casing. As of their angles were maxed out initially (boot ridges)

For everyone asking, they said they are the upgraded CV axles they put on. Here is the paperwork for reference.

Now that we've established that the CV axle design has indeed been improved, the question now is by how much? Is it gonna last 10k miles longer than the original design on average, 40k, 100k? That's the question that's yet to be seen.

Here's hoping we get a full on dissection of them to discuss the improvements moving forward. Good on Ford for addressing this, a lot of brands don't.

Driving home i noticed the steering wheel is much stiffer. Is that typical after CV replacements? Almost like power steering is gone.
