I bought some Maverick parts from someone a few days ago. She told me her Maverick started developing axle and battery issues at ~19K miles. Ford bought it back via Lemon Law. I'm guessing OP may not have that down in Mexico. Good luck!

Oof. This one hurts.

It sounds like a sewing machine (louder than usual) with way too much play in the CV's too. Hopefully they get it fixed but that engine noise makes me think of Lemons.
I hope that Ford will give me a solution soon before the hearing with PROFECO, offering a proposal to change the unit or preferably give me a refund.

It’s very tiring to have warranty issues that are not satisfactorily resolved.

Sorry to hear that , I thought Mexico would rare of it better , I mean , it’s made there .
It’s weird ford USA wouldn’t help you as the money technically comes here?
I don’t know the dealer logistics rules and such between the countries , but your dealer down there should take it back in trade after “they said it’s fixed” and give you a chance to purchase an f150 or another option ? Is there no lemon laws in Mexico?
I also heard the maverick is more expensive in Mexico ? Seems ironic.
Keep complaining , if it’s legit on here , Ford moderates and owns this site , they should chime in and contact you if it’s legit.
I don't know what's going on with Ford. From the first report they denied that it was the CV axle and they closed it saying that it was a design knocking noise, until I helped the dealer obtain the necessary evidence and prove that it was the axle.

They changed many parts and supposedly repaired it but a noise persists now in the central part of the front drivetrain.

Unfortunately in Mexico, the laws don’t help much for consumers and we don’t have something like the lemon law.

For make a unit change they want me to be affected with approximately $16,000 dollars and my truck only has 4300 km = approximately 2700 miles when it is an issue that they haven’t been able to resolve.

Ford Mexico continues saying that my truck is fine despite the defect it presented and what it currently presents after the repair they did.

I paid $849,000 Mexican pesos ($48,500 USD approx.) for my truck in June of last year. Today a new one costs $802,000 Mexican pesos (45,800 dollars).

After this experience I don’t know If I like another Ford

Most manufacturing is now done
By robots
I think the quality gap between us and
Japanese vehicles has closed
Well the robots can only do what they're told. Part of it comes down the engineering and perhaps one company is more of a penny pincher than others when it comes to design an engineering

I mean I haven't gone over their books with a fine tooth comb. I'm just going by my general impression. Granted, I grew up in the '70s and '80s when American car planters were mostly interested in having the car self-destruct right after the warranty expired .You know the planned obsolescence and all that. I'm not trying to offend anybody who possibly has an affinity or loyalty to a certain brand. I have just read the vast majority of my life that according to JD power, consumer reports, etc Japanese brands tend to be more reliable.

Soooo... i have had a similar issue.
Ford has a few TSB's on this exact issue. The cv axles have known issues. They will be replaced a couple of times until the latest update of the part, fixes the problem. Im on my 3rd set.

Wondering if the Honda was the 1.5t . I hear they had some issues with the rings . Thanks for the info and perspective
Id have to find out but I would guess it’s the bigger engine from memory. Seems they can’t figure out engines anymore. A lot has to do with emissions making it tougher to make them reliable. But it also gave use f-150 that gets 30mph.

From what I have seen in the forum in all the topics related to this, the origin of this defect has not been correctly solved. That's why some are on their second or third CV axle replacement.

Yeah my wife has a Honda with the 1.5 turbo. I think it had problems with the rings with that engine but not hers yet. Knock on wood. I actually think the bigger one in the Honda is the more reliable one. I'm not sure, but I think it's a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated

It looks like your drivers side axle was too long ( defective ) , that was the grinding noise. Have they installed a new one ?
Was it seated into trans properly on inboard side?
And is the truck free of alignment and left hand side crossmember/a arm mount issues , especially rear an arm mount hole .
very weak plate there , gets ovaled inwards and torn easy from say a curb hit. Causing an arm to lean inwards toward center of car . Also check all cross member bolting areas and trans and motor mounts ( no shift to the drivers side .)
No reason this would have done that damage unless defective axle , axle was never fully seated in trans , issue with all3 engine ,trans mounts or truck had a hard hit on drivers side .
Good luck , keep calling ford corporate!
or the axle nut was not torque properly
